(Fuel oil line to Marine Corps Air Station, E1 Toro) In Re Communication Division of Highways (S.A.Freeway) In Re Request Thomas Cosgrove (purchase of city property) the exception that 15th Street be changed to some name which more properly fits the location of the streets. # On motion of T~ustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, Map Tract No~ 1598 for the dedication of Townsend Street, Tenth Street, Washingt¢ Avenue and English Street for public use for highway purposes, was approved and officials were authorized to sign same, subject to the filing of bond in the sum of $16,000.00 by Laelco Inc., and approval cf bond by the City Attorney. Communication was read from the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Inc., requesting pe~misslon to use one meter parking space to display an e~hibit of antique and modern firearms and war equipment, the exact date of display to be determined later. On motion of T~ustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request was referred to the Administrator for investigation and report at a later date. # Communication was read from Public Works Office, Eleventh Naval Distri¢ stating that the Government wishes to enter into an agreement witk the City to construct a fuel oil line between the U.S.Air Force fuel oll storage depot No. 2 at Norwalk, and the Marine Corps Air Station, E1 Toro in order to supply fuel for'the operation of aircraft at the Marine Co~ps Air Station,'and that the pipeline approaches Santa Ana in the right-of-way of the Santa Ana branch of the Southern Pacific Railway leaving the Southern Pacific right-of-way at 17th Street and proceeding easterly on l?th Street, a distance of approximately 5858 feet to the easterly city limits of Santa Aha. On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Administrator and Engineer were directed to ~ite a lette~' to Earl G. Dobbins, Commander, CRC, USN, Acting District-Public Works Officer, advising that sometime in the month of November the City Engineer suggested an altePnat6 route be used and the use of such'possible alternate route to be exhausted; the City not being in favor of a fuel line ~unning through Santa Aha and a copy of the letter ordered sent to Congressman James Utt. ,, Communication was ~ead from Division of Highways acknowledging ~eceipt of certified copy of Resolution No. 53-38 requesting that the freeway agreement now in e~fect covering construction on the Santa Ana Freeway, Road VII-Ora-174-SA, be revised to provide for the construction of a grade separated t~affic interchange at the northerly extension of Bristol Street connecting with the westerly extension of La Veta Avenue, and advising that studies will be started immediately on this ~evision to determine the best method by which it may be accomplished. On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the com- munication was reeeived and filed. # Communication was read from Thomas Cosgrove requesting a price adjust- ment in the prospective purchase of the city owned strip of land adjoining his property on North Main Street at Santa Clama Avenue, and on motion of Trustee Hunte~, seconded by Dahl and carried, the Administrator-was authorized to continue negotiations with Mr. Cos #
