No. 53-89 <br />Designating street <br />name to be Santiago <br />Way <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage <br /> application made by B~rl F.C.Chase, 1052 W. ~th St., was received and <br /> <br /> filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> demands as audited by the Finance Committee were approved and the <br /> Clerk authorized to issue warrants for same. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> report of the Industrial Committee of-the Chamber of Commerce was <br /> <br /> relented to the Council as a whole for further study. <br /># <br /> <br /> Communication was read from The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph CompanE <br /> requesting permission to p~aoe a pole on the City Library property in <br /> order to provide adequate clearance for telephone lines which provide <br /> sea-vice to the Library, and on motion of Councilman. Jerome, seconded <br /> by Dahl and carried, the request was referred to the Engineer with <br /> <br /> power to act. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> Application of C.J.Black, doing business as Huntington Beach-Santa Ana <br /> Bus Line, for a certificate of public convenience and necessity to <br /> operate an extended route between Santa Aha and Orange, was referred <br /> to the City Manager for investigation and report at the next meeting. <br /> On recommendation of the eommittee and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> seconded by Larsen and carried, the bid of the Harrison Pontiac Company <br /> was accepted for four eight cylinder automobiles and the installation <br /> of "Standard Police Group" as outlined in the bid and all other bids <br /> rejected. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> seconded by McBride and carried, the bid of Wager and Walker was <br /> accepted for the furnishing of two motorcycles for the Police Depart- <br /> ment, and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> seconded by Larsen and c~urried, the bid of American Cast Iron Pipe <br /> Company was accepted for the furnishing of 20,000 feet 6 inch cement <br /> lined Bell and Spigot, Class 150, cast tron pipe for water mains, and <br /> <br /> all other bids rejected. <br /> # <br /> On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman McBride,~ <br /> seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of V.C.K.Const~ction Company, <br /> in the sum of $12,725.6~ was accepted for the construction of a 15" <br /> vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer along Maple Street from Wisteria <br /> <br /> Place to Chestnut Avenue, and all other bids rejected. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution Designating a Certain Street Name <br /> to be Santiago Way" <br /> <br /> was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 53-89 and passed by <br /> the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
