Commission <br />(Library Bldg.) <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> <br />seconded by Jerome <br /> <br />and carried, the fol:l <br /> <br />lowing Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance No.__ amending Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code by amending Article IX thereof creating changes <br />in District Boundaries and by amending Sheet Number <br />31 of the Districting Map to show the reclassification" <br /> <br />from R-1 and R-2 to C-2 Zone certain lots in Block A and B in Tract <br /> <br />No. 531, in accordance with amendment application of E. C. Missildine <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br />statement of L. H. Eckel, County Auditor, fixing the assessed valua- <br /> <br />tion of the City at $68,820,570.00 for the year 1953-54, was received <br /> <br />and filed. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance No. NS-10 of the City of Santa Ana, <br />California, fixing the amount of money ascertained <br />to carry on the various departments of the City of <br />Santa Ana, to pay the bonded indebtedness falling <br />due for the current year 1953-1954, fixing the rate <br />of taxation for the current year 1953-19~4, and <br />designating the number of cents on each $100.00 for <br />the various funds of said City and hereby levied on <br />the whole of the ta~able property of said City" <br /> <br />was read, considered and passed as an ~mergency OrdinAnce by the <br />following vote: <br /> Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, Thomas F. Larsen, <br /> Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler. <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen J. L. McBride. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Mayor was authorized to sign escrow instructions from E. H. Warhurst, <br /> <br />etux for right-of-way on South Main Street. <br /># <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and Carried, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />reading of the Resolution was waived. On motion of Councilman Jerome, <br /> <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 53-122 Accepting Easement Deed" <br /> <br />from E. H. Warhurst and Lillian M. Warhurst conveying an easement for <br /> <br />street purposes over and across the westerly seven feet of Lot Two in <br /> <br />Block M of Tract No. 252, McFadden Home Tract No. 252, for the widen- <br /> <br />ing of South Main Street, was considered and passed by the following <br /> <br />vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, Thomas F. Larsen, <br /> Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen J. L. McBride. <br /># <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br /> <br />on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br /> <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 53-123 authorizing and directing <br />the Clerk of the Council to advertise for bids <br />for the reconstruction of Grand Avenue from Fourth <br />Street to Seventeenth Street (except across Santa <br />Ana Freeway)" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, Thomas F. Larsen, <br /> Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent,.Councilmen J. L. McBride. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />communication from the Planning Commission stating its opinion that <br />the Library, when built, should be located between 6th and 8th StreetS, <br />and Broadway and Shelton, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
