Burrows, Architect, for an appointment with the <br />building committee reference to the proposed swimming facilities to <br />be erected at the Memorial Park, was received and filed. On motion <br />of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the Clerk was <br />instructed to advise Er. Burrows that a building committee has not <br />been appointed at this time and the request was ordered filed for <br /> <br />future reference. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />communication of Essie M. Ross, 315 North Garnsey Street, stating thaqi <br />the proper location for the new Library is on Sixth Street between <br /> <br />Ross and Patton Streets~ was received and filed. <br /># <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Dahl that the area bounded on the south by <br />Sixth Street, on the north by Eighth Street, on the east by Ross Street <br />and on the west by Van Ness Avenue be delineated at this time as the <br /> <br /> tentative site ~or the new City Library. Motion lost. <br /># <br /> <br />Communication was read from L.K.Mike, requesting permission to give <br />away Christian Literature, from house to house, and accept offerings, <br />and on motion of Cnuncilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br />the request was refe~Ted to the Business Men's Associati'on for <br />re commendation. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />communication from the Purchasing Agent stating that twenty-six <br />impounded bicycles were sold at auction on August 22nd, at a total <br />price of $127.82, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, 9he <br />communication from the Department of Public Works, stating that the <br />Highway Commission will relinquish that portion of State Highway wlth-m <br />in the City along First Street between the easterly line of Main Street <br />and the easterly City Limits at Mabury Street, Road VII-Ora-2-S.A. <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Fred E. Smith, Realtor, offering to sell <br />property located at 1005 West Sixth Street, which is an estate and <br />will be sold in Court to the highest bidder. It was moved by Council~ <br />man Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, that the City submit an <br />offer of $6,000.00 for the property. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by five merchants located in the 200 block <br />West Third Street requesting that the present loading zone on the south <br />side of West Third Street at the corner of Broadway be moved to 208 <br />West Third Street. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larse~ <br />and carried, the requect was referred to the committee on curb usage <br /> <br />for recommendati on. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
