<br />Communication was read from the Secretary, Board of Education request-
<br />ing a loading zone directly in front of the Santiago School, on the
<br />west side of Baker Street; provide two pedestrian zones, one extend-
<br />ing across the street directly in front of the north sidewalk, and
<br />one extending across the street immediately south of the black-top
<br />entrance to the school grounds; and, provide four boulevard stop
<br />signs at the intersection of Santa Clara and Baker Streets. On
<br />motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the
<br />
<br />request was referred to the committee on curb usage for recommendation.

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried,
<br />
<br />Milford W. Dahl was appointed an alternate member of the Board of
<br />
<br />Directors of County Sanitation District No. 2.

<br />Copy of communication was read from the Division of Highways, Depart-
<br />ment of Public Works, advising that Resolution of relinquishment of a
<br />portion of Road VII-ORA-2-SA, along First Street, between the easterly
<br />line of Main Street and the easterly city boundary of Santa Ana, at
<br />Mabury Street, was recorded December 7, 1953, in Book 2628, Page 232,
<br />of Official Records of Orange County. On motion of Councilman Dahl,
<br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the Oommunication was received an~
<br />
<br />filed.

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried,
<br />proper officials were authorized to execute Utilities Agreement No. 7-
<br />Ut-397 with the Division of Highways, in connection with the re-
<br />location of water facilities on the Santa Aha Freeway between B~oadway
<br />
<br />and First Street.

<br />Communication was read from the Assistant Director of Public Works
<br />advising that improvements within Tract No. 1734 have been completed,
<br />and on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried,
<br />bond filed by Russell Nelson, President, Flower Estates, Inc., in the
<br />
<br />sum of $40,000.00, was ordered released.

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the
<br />following Ordinance entitled:

<br /> "Ordinance amending Santa Ana Municipal Code
<br /> by amending Article IX thereof creating changes
<br /> in district boundaries and by amending Sheets
<br /> Numbered 23 and 26 of the Districting Map to
<br /> show the reclassification"
<br />
<br />from the R-1 Dietrict to the R-2 District Lots 2 through ll and X,
<br />Block A; and Lots 1 ~rough 3, Block B, Tract No. 451, M.M. 16-41,
<br />located on the north side of West Washington Avenue between College
<br />Avenue and English Street, in accordance with Amendment Anolication
<br />of Bruce W. Albert etal, was introduced, considered and placed on file
<br />
<br />for second reading.~
