Council Chamber <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br />February 15, 1955. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmen <br />Councilmen <br /> <br />William Jerome, J.L.McBr!de, <br />Thomas F. Larsen, Courtney R. Chandler. <br />Milford W. Dahl. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the <br />Minutes of February 1st and February 8th, 1954, reading of the <br />Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman <br />Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried. <br /> . <br />In Re On motion of Councilman'Jerome, seconded by Larsen and <br />Bids <br />Automobile <br />for Police Dept. <br /> <br /> carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized to open the bids for the furnishing of one auto- <br />mobile for use of the ~olice Department, as follows: <br /> <br />Bid of George Dunton: <br />For a total of $2139.&4 <br />Delivery will be completed not later <br />than thirty days after award. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Hearing <br />Delinquent Sales <br />Tax payments <br /> <br /> Bid of McLean Motor Company: <br />For a total of $2784.15. <br />Delivery. will be completed not later <br />than thirty days after award. <br /> <br />Bid of L.D. Coffing Company: <br />For a total of $2711.?0. <br />Delivery will be completed not later <br />than forty-five days after award. <br /> <br />(Councilman Dahl arrived at 7:40 P.M.) <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />bids were referred to the Manager, Purchasing Agent and Acting Chief <br /> <br />of Police for report at the next meeting. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on payment of delinquent sales <br /> <br />tax of various firms and persons,communication was read from the <br /> <br />Treasurer advising that the account of Martin and Wise, 318 West <br /> <br />Fourth Street is unpaid. Councilman Dahl stated he had the check of <br /> <br />Martin and Wise in payment of delinquent sales tax. On motion of <br />Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the list of <br />delinquents, as submitted by the'Treasurer, was referred to the <br /> <br />In Re <br />Hearing <br />Establish set-back <br />lines on West First <br />Street <br /> <br />In Re <br />Hearing <br /> <br />Resol. No. 5~-15 <br />Ord~rifig v~cating <br />portions of Greenleaf <br />St. and Bonnie Brae <br /> <br />Attorney for action. <br /> <br />This being the date set f6r hearing protests on the establishing of <br />set-back lines on West First Street from Main Street to the westerly <br />City Limits; no written or oral protests were received. On motion <br />of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried~ the Attorney <br />was instructed to prepare an Ordinance to establish set-back lines. <br />This being the date set for hearing protests ordering the vacation, <br />abandonment and closing of certain portions of Greenleaf Street and <br />Bonnie Brae and reserving an easement therein; no written or oral <br />protests were received. The Council having unanimously waived the <br />reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded <br /> <br />by Dahl and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 54-15 ordering the vacation, <br />abandonment and closing of certain portions <br />of Greenleaf Street and Bonnie Brae and <br />reserving an easement therein" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br />Thomas F.
