<br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission showing respeotlv~l--

<br />of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the communi-

<br /> cation was received and filed.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the
<br /> recommendation of the~ Planning Commission was approved and variance
<br /> granted to Charles L. and Helen S. Davis to permit the remodeling of
<br /> the second floor of existing residence on property at 327 East Wash-
<br /> ington Avenue, to provide for two apartments, an exterior stairway to
<br /> be constructed to provide access to these apartments.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission wa~ approved and variance
<br /> granted to Orville E. and Theresa F. Parker, to permit the construct-
<br /> ion of a two-bedroom dwelling for income purposes, in front of the
<br /> existing garage apartment at rea~ of property at 2072 Cedar Street, i~i
<br /> R-2 Zone, on a parcel of ground containing 5400 square feet instead
<br />
<br /> of the 6000 square feet required.

<br /> Communication and Resolution No.626 of the Planning Commission were
<br /> read on the application of Bristol Drug Company, recommending the re-
<br /> clas,~ification of property at the northeast corner of Third and Bristo~
<br /> Streets, from the R-2 District to the C-2 District. On motion' of'
<br /> Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, a notice of public
<br /> hearing was ordered published setting date of hearing as May 17th,195~
<br /> Communication and Resolution No. 627 of the Planning Commission were
<br /> read on the application of Charle~ C. Bi-is¢o, recommending the re-
<br /> classification of property at 1715 ~'~est 17th Street, on the north sideli
<br /> of the street between Aloha and~Brlstol Streets, from R-1 and R-2
<br /> Districts to C-2 District. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded
<br /> by Larsen and carried, a notice of public hearing was ordered publishe~
<br /> setting date of hearing as May 17th, 1954.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Dsdul, seconded by Larsen and carried, Tent-
<br /> ative Map of Tract No. 2188, submitted by Earl S. Young, consisting of
<br /> eleven lots with 20 foot setback lines, located between Haliaday
<br />
<br /> Street and the Holly Sugar Company property, one lot depth south of
<br /> Emmett Street, was approved subject to the condition that improvements
<br /> on Halladay Street be made by the owners to include concrete curb and
<br /> gutter, and a minimum of 6" of Untreated rock base and 2~" of plant
<br /> mix surfacing from gutter to the center of Halladay Street.

<br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, Map of
<br />Tract No. 2068 and bond in the amount of $71,000.00, submitted by
<br />Orange County Development Company, .~ere approved for the dedication of
<br />Lora Lane, Douglas Street, Joane V/ay, Doreen Way, Rene Drive, Rita ~'~ay
<br />and a portion of Edinger Street, and agreement covering improvements
<br />was ordered signed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, Notice
<br />of application by the United States of America for an order of
<br />immediate possession of the easement area condemned and taken by the
<br />within action for fuel pipe line installation, was received and filed.
