Vlebeck <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />George L. Wild <br /> <br />In Re <br />Amend. Application <br />Donald B. Christeson <br />Reclassify three lots <br />south of Elm St. and <br />fronting on Bristol St. <br /> <br /> Jerome, seconded by NcBride and carried, the communication was receive, <br /> and filed. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by M~Bride and <br /> carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana <br /> Municipal Code creating changes in district <br /> boundaries and amending Sheet No. 6 of the <br /> districting map to show the reclassification" <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />approval of the proposed establishment of a setback line along the <br />north side of Santa Clara Avenue, from Broadway to Main Street, 59' <br />north of the surveyed center line of Santa Clara Avenue measured at <br />right angles. ' The Council having unanimously waived the reading of <br />the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by McBride <br />and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 55-84 declaring intention to <br /> establish setback lines on Santa Clara Avenue <br /> from Broadway to Main Street" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br /> Thomas F. Larsen, Courtney R. <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen Milford W. Dahl <br /> <br />Chandler <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denial <br /> of variance applicatio~of George Viebeck to permit the erection of a <br /> duplex on property situated on the west side of Bristol Street (83'), <br /> and the north side of Santiago Creek (250'), between Seventeenth Stree~ <br /> and Memory Lane. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome <br /> and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved <br /> and variance denied. <br /> <br />Communications were ~ead from the Planning Commission recommending grant~ <br /> ing of variance to George L. Wild to build an addition to existing <br /> house on property at 503 East St. Gertrude Street, so that a variety <br /> store and dry cleaning pick-up agency or drug store, or beauty parlor, <br /> or real estate office may be housed therein, with a door opening into <br /> it from the living room of the house; and, also to 8onvert an unfinished <br /> garage into a small three-room apartment, and, from the Department of <br /> Public Works that construction of curb and sidewalk and paving out to <br /> existing pavement on St. Gertrude Place and Rousselle Street are needed <br /> in front of or along the side of the property to bring it up ~o the <br /> present City standards. Attorney Roy Giordano, on behalf of his <br /> client~ stated that a variance was granted on this property in 1947 <br /> and since theft time the lots have been refaced. On motion of Council~ <br /> man Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the recommendation of the <br /> Planning Commission was aoproved and variance ~Nrant~d subject to the <br /> <br /> conditions as i~posed by the Department of Public ~orks. <br /> ,, <br /> Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Resolution <br /> No. 642 recommending the reclassification of three lots situated 180~ <br /> south of Elm Street, with 229~ frontage on Bristol Street, from R-1 to~ <br /> R-2 District, in accordance with amendment application of Donald B. <br /> Christeson.
