A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA FIXING CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE <br />INSTALLATION AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 70-30 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there are certain expenses involved in installing various <br />sizes of water services by the Water Utility; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Utility wishes to recover said expenses from the <br />applicant instead of assessing the general consumer for these new installations; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following charges are to be <br />collected, before installation, for each water service installed by the Water <br />Utility as provided for in Section 39-19 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code. <br /> <br />A. WATER SERVICE <br /> <br />SIZE OF SERVICE <br /> <br />COST OF SERVICE <br />INSTALLATION <br /> <br />1" $150.00 <br />i L/2" $375.00 <br />2" $475.00 <br /> <br /> The charge for moving a service meter 15 feet or less shall be <br />one-half of the installation charge and for moving a service meter over 15 <br />feet the charge shall be the same as for a new installation. <br /> <br /> The charge to increase the size of a service installation shall be <br />the same as for a new installation of the larger size service. <br /> <br />B. SERVICE INSTALLATION OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS <br /> <br /> All installation charges shall be the same for areas supplied <br />water outside the City Limits as for areas inside the City limits. <br /> <br />C. DEPOSIT <br /> <br /> The installation of larger services, fire services, backflow <br />protection devices, or any other service not covered in this Resolution, or <br />specifically provided for in any other existing Ordinances or Resolution of <br />said City of Santa Ana shall be made on the basis of cost, including overhead. <br />In any such installations, the applicant shall post a deposit in an amount <br />estimated by the Director of Public Works to be sufficient to cover the total <br />charges. In the event the cost is less than the deposit, the balance will be <br />refunded to the applicant, and if more, shall be paid by the applicant upon <br />receipt of additional billing. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the above charges shall be waived if <br />the applicant installs the water services at his own expense. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Resolution 70-30 fixing charges for <br />water service installations is hereby rescinded. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this resolution shall be effective <br />the 1st day of October 1974. <br /> <br /> <br />
