Merrill, 422 South Birch Street, <br /> protesting the enforcement'of the Ordinance reg~latlng all-nlght Dark- <br /> lng. Mr'. Merrill stated that the enforcement of the Ordinance'is <br /> arousing criticism and the tagging of automobiles during the hours of <br /> 2 and 5 A.M. in the residential areas is not the solution tO the <br /> problem since there are not sufficient garages in the area for the <br /> number of cars of the residents. On motion of Councilman Jerome, <br /> seconded by McBride and carried, the matter was referred to the Counci <br /> and Attorney for study. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Bob Fernandez stating he is unable to <br />accept the appointment to the Personnel Board. On motion of Council- <br />man Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the communication was <br />r~ceived, filed and resignation accepted and Clerk instructed to write <br />a letter of appreciation for his valuable service on the Board. <br />Communication was read from Secretary, Izaak Walton League of America, <br />Inc., expressing appreciation for the use of Santiago Park on July <br />21st arid commending the night attendant at the park for his unusually <br />cooperative and helpful service. On motion of CounCilman ~erose, <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the communication was received and <br /> <br />filed. <br /> , <br />Communication was read from R. C. Crane, Minister, 1512 Bush Street, <br />requesting permission to use Santiago Park, to conSuct evening service <br />for one week, from Monday to Saturday inclusive, in September. On <br />motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />matter was referred to the Park Superintendent for report. <br />Communication was read from Baker Development Company requesting the <br />abandonment of all streets in Tract No. 2019, being 21st Street, McCls <br />Street and Greenwood Avenue, and that improvement bond in the sum of <br />$20,000.00 be released. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by <br />Larsen and carried, the matter was referred to the Manage~, Acting <br />Director of Public Works and Fire Chief for study. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by nineteen persons in the 100 block South <br />Birch Street requesting that an Ordinance be passed prohibitin~ dogs <br />running at large and providing for leash regulations. On motion of <br />Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the petition was <br />received, filed and referred to the Manager for reply to the first <br />signer on the petition and investigation to be made by the Poundmaster <br />Communication was read from The Metropolitan Water District trans- <br />mitting financial statements as of June 30th, 1954, and a statement of <br />the amount of water stored by the District and used ~y member munici- <br />palities, and on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and <br /> <br />carried, the documents were received and filed. <br />,, <br />Communication was read from Sidney L.
