Bell <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Calland Bros. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />K.C.TaniS <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Santa Ana <br />Oil Co. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />L.A.Forshay <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing protests on annexation to the City <br />of certain uninhabited territory designated "Genevieve De~tter Annex" <br />and no protests being received; on motion of Councilman McBride, <br />seconded by Lateen and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance declaring the annexation of that <br /> certain territory designated ~Genevieve <br /> DeSutt er Annex'" <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br /># <br /> <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />granting of variance to Merrill G. Bell to use a room in house at 502 <br />South Broadway for the operation cf a general real estate office, wi~ <br />one unlighted sign, not over 12 square feet, to be placed against the <br /> <br />building, and from the Department of Public Works that replacement of <br /> fronting <br />all broken sidewalks/on Camile Street is needed to bring it up to <br /> <br />present City standards. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by <br />Dahl and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was <br />approved and variance granted subject to the conditions as imposed by <br /> <br />the Commission and by the Department of Public Works. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br />granted to Calland Bros. to erect an 8~ x 10~ temporary sign on prop- <br />erty at 518 South Bristol Street, to be set back 5' from the sidewalk, <br /> <br /> and to remain for a period not to exceed one year. <br /># <br /> <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />granting of variance to K. C. Tanis to construct a four-unit apartment <br /> <br />house, including four garages, at 1031 Cypress Street, and from the <br /> fronting <br />Department of Public Works that replacement of all broken sidewalks/on <br /> <br />Cypress Street is needed to bring it up to present City standards. On <br />motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br />granted subject to the conditions as imposed by the Commission and by <br /> <br />the Department of Public Works. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br />granted to Santa Aha Oil Company to erect the customary pole sign in <br />connection with their service station, on property at the northwest <br />corner of Flower and Glenwood Streets, in accordance with the provisions <br /> <br />of the Sign Ordinance. <br /># <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />granting of variance to Lewis A. Forehay to use property at 1027 West <br />First Street for a home and real estate office, with a real estate sign <br />not to exceed $' x 6', to be placed not closer than 10' from the side- <br />walk, and no building alterations to be made, and from the Dep~rtment <br />of Public Works that replacement of asphalt approach with concrete is <br />needed to bring it up to present City standards. On motion of Council- <br />man Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the recommendation of the <br />Planning Commission was approved and variance granted subject to the <br />conditions as imposed by the Commission and by the Department of Public <br /> <br />Works. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
