Section 3.6: Any sworn, uniformed Police Officer who attains <br />the following educational and experience requirements and the approvals <br />as set out below shall be paid at the same pay step, but at one pay <br />schedule higher than the base schedule to which he would be otherwise <br />entitled. The criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />A. Completion of two (2) years of experience as a sworn Police Officer <br /> in the Santa Ana Police Department. <br /> <br />B. Completion of at least thirty (30) units of educational or train- <br /> ing units. <br /> <br />C. Assignment to uniformed field patrol duty. <br /> <br />De <br /> <br />Qualification as C.S.I. or F.T.O. by having completed the special <br />training courses for Crime Scene Investigators, Field Training <br />Officers and/or Advanced Officers School as set out in Section 3.4 <br />above. <br /> <br />E. Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />The number of such designations as C.S.I. or F.T.O. Patrol Officers <br />shall be no larger than the requirements of the Department as deter- <br />mined by the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> Section 3.7: Any sworn, uniformed Police Officer who fulfills <br />the requirements established in this section shall be designated as a <br />Senior Police Officer - Level I and shall be paid the same pay step, <br />but at three pay schedules above the base schedule and step to which <br />he would be otherwise entitled. The criteria for such designation <br />shall be as follows: <br /> <br />Completion of five (5) <br />attainment of the "E" <br />for Patrolman. <br /> <br />years of municipal Police experience and <br />step of the appropriate base salary schedule <br /> <br />B. Completion (acquisition) of at least sixty (60) educational or <br /> training units. <br /> <br />C. Assignment to uniformed, field patrol duty. <br /> <br />D. Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> Section 3.8: Any sworn, uniformed Police Officer who fulfills <br />the requirements established in this section shall be designated as a <br />Senior Police Officer - Level II and shall be paid the same pay step <br />but at five pay schedules above the base schedule and step to which <br />he would be otherwise entitled. The criteria for such designation <br />shall be as follows: <br /> <br />Completion of seven (7) years of municipal Police experience and <br />attainment of the "E" step of the appropriate base salary schedule <br />for Patrolman. <br /> <br />Completion (acquisition) of at least ninety (90) educational or <br />training points, or hold an Associate of Arts academic degree from <br />an accredited college or university with an additional fifteen (15) <br />or more training units. <br /> <br />C. Assignment to uniformed, field patrol duty. <br /> <br />D. Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> Section 3.9: Any Officer holding the rank of Police Sergeant <br />in the Santa Ana Police Department, regardless of duty assignment, who <br />meets the following requirements shall be paid at the same pay step <br />but at three (3) pay schedules above the base schedule and step to <br /> <br /> <br />
