In Re Communication was read from Senator John A. Murdy advising that Bill <br />Communication <br />Benator Nurdy SB 1750 will come before the Senate Committee on L~or for hearing <br />Bill SB 1750 <br /> about April 20th, and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen <br /> <br />and carried, the Clerk was instructed to advice Senator Murdy that the <br /> <br />Offer to sell <br />property at <br />7o8 w. 8th St. <br /> (E~a Mae Goddard) <br /> <br />City Council opposes the passage of Bill SB 1750. <br /># <br />Communication was read from Attorney Clarence Sprague off,ring to sell <br />to the City the property of Etta Nas Goddard, deceased, at 708 W. 8th <br />Street, for the sum of SI1,000.00, and on motion of Councilman McBride, <br /> <br />seconded by Dahl and carried, the communication was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br />Mayor was instructed to sign escrow instructions on the property if <br /> <br />the appraisal, which is to be secured by the Manager, is- equal to or <br /> <br />In Re <br />Special Counsel <br />refere$ce Restraining <br />Order ~members of <br />Police Dept.) <br /> <br />more than the amount offered. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Personnel Board requesting author- <br /> <br />lzation from the Council to employ Attorney Lew Blodget, as Counsel, <br />at a fee not to exceed $500.00, for his appeauance at the hearing to <br /> <br />be held April 15th, 1955, in the Superior Court, in the matter of the <br /> <br />restraining order filed by Frederick Hopper and other members of the <br /> <br />Police Dep~tment against the Personnel Board, the City Manager and <br /> <br />the Acting Chief of Police, and on motion of Councilman McBride, <br /> <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the communication was received and <br /> <br />filed. It was moved by Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and <br /> <br />In Re <br />Resol. No. 55-107 <br />Establish yellow <br />zone on Mortimer St. <br />(Ebell Society) <br /> <br />carried, that the request for special Counsel be approved according to <br />the statement in the letter and not to exceed a fee of $500.00. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolutlon, <br />on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 55-107 concerning parking <br />limitations and curb markings in accord- <br />ance therewith" <br /> <br />establishing a yellow zone on the west side of Mortimer Street between <br /> <br />Fruit and Stafford Streets, in accordance with request of the Ebell <br /> <br />Society, ~,~as considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> In Re <br />Resol.
