(2) Training units may be earned by the assignment to and per- <br />formance of Police duties other than uniformed, field patrol, <br />with one full and continuous month of such assignment equal to <br />one training unit. Credit for experience in assignments other <br />than patrol work shall not be given, unless at least three <br />continuous months of such assignment have been completed. Not <br />more than six (6) units of training through assignment to non- <br />patrol duties may be earned in any one year and not more than <br />fifteen (15) such training units by assignment shall be used in <br />meeting the criteria for Career Development Program designations <br />as set out in this Resolution. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3.5: Any sworn, uniformed Police Officer who attains the follow- <br />ing educational and experience requirements and the approvals as set out below <br />shall be paid at the same step, but at a salary range set two and one-half <br />(2½) per cent above the basic Patrolman range and step to which he would be <br />otherwise entitled. The criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />a. Completion of two (2) years of experience as a sworn Police Officer <br />in the Santa Aha Police Department. <br /> <br />b. Completion of at least thirty (30) educational or training units. <br /> <br />c. Assignment to uniformed field patrol duty. <br /> <br />d. Qualification as C.S.I. or F.T.O. by having completed the special <br />training courses for Crime Scene Investigators, Field Training Officers <br />and/or Advanced Officers School as set out in Section 3.3 above. <br /> <br />e. Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br />The number of such designations as C.S.I. or F.T.O. Patrol Officers shall <br />be no larger than the requirements of the Department as determined by the <br />Police Chief. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3.6: Any sworn, uniformed Police Officer who fulfills the require- <br />ments established in this section shall be designated as a Senior Police Officer I <br />and shall be paid at the same step, but at a salary range set seven and one-half <br />(7½) per cent above the basic Patrolman range and step to which he would be <br />otherwise entitled. The criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />a. Completion of five (5) years of municipal Police experience and <br />attainment of the "E" step of the appropriate base salary range for <br />Patrolman. <br /> <br />b. Completion (acquisition) of at least sixty (60) educational or <br />training units. <br /> <br />c. Assignment to uniformed, field patrol duty. <br /> <br />d. Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3.7: Any sworn, uniformed Police Officer who fulfills the <br />requirements established in this section shall be designated as a Senior Police <br />Officer II and shall be paid at the same step but at a salary range set twelve <br />and one-half (12½) per cent above the basic Patrolman range and step to which <br />he would be otherwise entitled. The criteria for such designation shall be <br />as follows: <br /> <br />a. Completion of seven (7) years of municipal Police experience and <br />attainment of the "E" step of the base salary range for Patrolman. <br /> <br />b. Completion (acq6isition) of at least ninety (90) educational <br />or training units or hold an Associate of Arts academic degree from <br />an accredited college with an additional fifteen (15) or more <br />educational or training units. <br /> <br /> <br />
