c. Assignment to uniformed, field patrol duty. <br /> <br />d. Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3.8: Any sworn, uniformed Police Officer who fulfills the <br />requirements established in this section shall be designated as a Senior <br />Police Officer III and shall be paid at the same step but a salary range set <br />fifteen (15) per cent above the basic Patrolman range and step to which he <br />would be otherwise entitled. The criteria for such designation shall be as <br />follows: <br /> <br />a. Completion of nine (9) years of municipal Police experience and <br />attainment of the "E" step of the salary range for Patrolman. <br /> <br />b. Completion (acquisition) of at least one hundred twenty (120) <br />educational or training units, or hold an Associate of Arts Academic <br />degree from an accredited college with an additional sixty (60) or <br />more educational or training units. <br /> <br />c. Assignment to uniformed, field patrol duty. <br /> <br />d. Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3.9: Any officer holding the rank of Police Sergeant in the <br />Santa Aha Police Department, regardless of duty assignment, who meets the <br />following requirements shall be designated as a Senior Police Sergeant I and <br />shall be paid at the same step but at a salary range set seven and one-half <br />(7½) per cent above the basic Sergeant range and step to which he would be <br />otherwise entitled. The criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />a. Completion of six (6) years of municipal police experience. <br /> <br />b. Completion (acquisition) of at least sixty (60) educational or <br />training units. <br /> <br />c. Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br /> A Police Sergeant with twenty (20) or more years of service with the <br />Santa Ana Police Department as of October 1, 1970, may be appointed to Senior <br />Police Sergeant I, as set out in this section, by special designation by the <br />Police Chief. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3.10: Any officer holding the rank of Police Sergeant in the <br />Santa Ana Police Department, regardless of duty assignment, who meets the <br />following requirements shall be designated as a Senior Police Sergeant II and <br />shall be paid at the same step but at a salary range set ten (10) per cent <br />above the basic Sergeant range and step to which he would be otherwise entitled. <br />Th~ cr~teri~ for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />a. Completion of eight (8) years of municipal police experience and <br />attainment of "E" step in the basic Police Sergeant salary range. <br /> <br />b. Completion (acquisition) of at least ninety (90) educational or <br />training points, or hold an Associate of Arts academic degree from an <br />accredited college with an additional thirty (30) or more educational <br />or training units. <br /> <br />c. Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3.11: Any Officer holding the rank of Police Lieutenant in <br />the Santa Ana Police Department, regardless of duty assignment, who meets the <br />following requirements shall be paid at the same step, but at a salary range <br />set five (5) per cent above the basic Lieutenant range and step to which he <br />would be otherwise entitled.
