Kindel, Jr., for the reclassification of property locate~ <br />on both sides of North Broadway fr~m Tenth Street to Washington Avenue, from the R-3 Distr: <br />to the C-2 District, reference amendment application of J~m~s H. Kindel, Jr. On motion o~ <br />Councflmsn Dehl, seconded by Markel and carried, a notice was ordered published setting th~ <br />date of public hearing as Nay 7th, 1956. <br /> <br />Coz~unication was read from the Planning Commission reference Variance granted to Norwood <br /> <br />and De Longe permitting erection of signs on the south side of Memory ~ne Just east of <br /> <br />Bristol Street and at their Park ~ne entrance at Bristol Street, and rec~mnending an <br /> <br />extension of time of one year from April 4th, 1956. On motion of Councilman D~h!, secon~ <br /> <br />by Neinly and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the <br /> <br />extension of time granted. <br /> <br />Everett Parks appeared on behelf of Melvin Maxwell in regard to Resolution No. 56-~0 <br /> <br />adopted February 16~ 1956, in which certain conditions were set out in granting Variance No <br />731, one of which was the provision for off-street parking for six standard passenger cars <br />Mr. Parks requested that the Council amend the condition to provide for three off-street <br /> <br />parking spaces in the front yard, or setback area. It was moved by Counci~mau M~rkel and <br /> <br />seconded by Heinly, that the condition on the Variance be modified to provide for three <br /> <br />off-street parking spaces, instead of six. <br /> <br />Roll Call Ayes, Councilmen <br /> Noes, Councilmen <br /> Absent, Councilmen <br />Motion lost. <br /> <br />It was moved by Counc~l~ Dahl, <br /> <br />J. Chandler <br />William Jerome <br /> <br />seconded by Heinly and carried, that the condition be <br /> <br />modified allowing the use of the setback on Flower Street for three cars, in the front <br /> <br />yard area, as per the plan. <br />Attorney Delbert Larsh spoke on behalf of. several housemovers protesting the proposed <br /> <br />Ordinance regulating building relocation and requested that the requirement of it being <br /> <br />necessary to have a hearing before the Planning Comm~esion should be excluded as it is <br /> <br />arbitrary and unconstitutional. It was moved by Councilman Reinly, seconded by D~hl and <br /> <br />carried, that the Ordinance be tabled for further study and consideration on May 21st,1956 <br /> <br />Communication from Richard ¥. Murison was read requesting that the sidewalks along that <br /> <br />portion of Washington Place shown on Record of Survey be omitted at this time from the re- <br />quirements for the develo~ent of this property. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconde <br />by Markel and carried, the communication was received and filed. On motion of Councilman <br />Markel, seconded by D~b~ and carried, the request for the elimination of the sidewalks was <br />denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman D~hl, seconded by Markel and carried, Map of Tract No. 2949 sub- <br /> <br />mitred by Roy Russell, for the dedication of 20th and Olive Streets between Flower and <br /> <br />Towner Streets, and bond in the amount of $9,000.00 were approved, license payment fee in <br /> <br />the sum of $600.00 accepted and the agreement covering improvements w~s ordered signed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councflmau Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, Tentative Map of Tract No. <br />1693, submitted by Aetna Develolmment Company, on property located east of Fairview Road- <br />Greenville Street and between M~vard and Edinger Streets, consisting of approximately 52 <br /> <br />acres, was approved subject to the condition that no lots be less than 6000 square feet; <br /> <br />that a grant deed for drainage purposes to the west of the property shall be given to the <br />City of Santa Aha, and subject to the conditions as set forth by the Department of Public <br />Works. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Preliminary Nap <br /> <br />presented by Bryan-Santa Ana, Ltd., owner of a parcel of land located at the northwest <br /> <br />corner of Washington and Grand Avenues, ~with 126 foot ~rontage on Washington Avenue and <br /> <br />ct <br /> <br /> <br />
