Approach Selection <br /> <br /> 1) Criteria for Selection <br /> <br /> a) Must provide for strict control of project, i.e., the financial, <br /> technical and human resources. <br /> <br /> b) Must benefit all components of the criminal Justice system, i.e., <br /> police, courts, corrections and citizens. <br /> <br /> c) Must impact the major facets of drug abuse in Orange County, i.e., <br /> apathy, manpower, knowledge and information. <br /> <br /> d) Must meet CCCJ law enforcement drug abuse project guidelines. <br /> <br />Agency Selection <br /> <br />1) Criteria for Selection <br /> <br /> The proposed approach requires that the proponent be a law enforcement <br /> agency with certain characteristics: <br /> <br /> a) Central location. <br /> <br /> b) Personnel trained in major narcotic investiga~ions. <br /> <br /> Capability of housing the Orange County Narcotic Index. <br /> <br />2) Conformance to Selection Criteria <br /> <br /> a) Santa Aha Police Department has a central location insofar as County: <br /> geographic distribution; demographic 'distribution; narcotic activity; <br /> and immediate access to County ~overnment agencies and facilities. <br /> <br /> b) Santa Aha Police Department currently has one of the largest Narcotic <br /> Investigation Units in Orange County and can provtde.irmnediate assistance <br /> to the Index with trained investigators. <br /> <br /> c) Due to a recently completed addition to its facility, Santa Aha Police <br /> Department has room to house the unit. <br /> <br />17a <br /> <br /> <br />
