No. 56-280 <br />Accept Grant Deed <br />Board of Supervisors <br />(properS. y m ear;Santiago <br />Park) <br /> <br />On motion of Counc]lm,~ Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the rec~ndation of the <br />Planning COmmtssion was approved and the variance of Recollect Augustian Order granted to <br />permit the use of property at 1620 West Sixth Street, for a Rectory for the Priests in <br />connection with church and school located across the street, with the understanding that <br />space be reserved in the back for parking of seven to ten cars, as indicated in the <br />application, and the condition as imposed by the Department of Public Works. <br />Communication was read from the Planning Cn, w.t ssion submitting Resolution No. 1066 recom- <br />mending the reclassification of property included in the area from Walnut Street~to Bisho <br />Street, and frc~ Shelton Street to the rear of lots facing Flower Street, excluding R-3 <br />property on Bishop Street, fr~a the R-1 DiStrict to the R-.2 District, reference C.=~ssio <br />initiated amendment application. On motion of Councilmen Reialy, seconded by Markel <br />and carried, a notice was ordered published setting the date of public hearing on .~ovembe <br />~9~, ~.956. <br /> <br />C~mm.mication was read from the Planning ~ission rec~nding the establishment of a <br />setback of 30 feet from center line of street on both sides of Cypress Avenue, from Goetz <br />Avenue on the north, to an ,renewed street on the south, a distance of approximately 400 <br />feet. On motion of Counc~lm~, Markel, seconded by Re~n!y and carried, the Attorney was <br />instructed to prepare a Resolution of Intention to establish a setback line on the <br />property. <br /> <br />The C~uncit having ,,---tmously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Council <br />m~, Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following ~solution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 56-278 accepting Grant Deed" <br /> <br />from United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, without cash consideration, <br />for property on West First Street w~st of Bristol Street, was considered and passed by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen J. Dahl <br /> <br />Melvin Seplak~ a teacher of the evening division of the Santa Aha High School presented, <br />as a ~roup, his class of students who are studying Oove=~ent laws and stated they will <br />secure their citizenship papers in December. Carl Laarss~ a member of the class, stated <br />there should be a law requ~ring bicycles to have lights so that they will be visible afte <br />~k.
