<br /> by Jerome and carried, the claim of Lillian Fletcher, in the sum of $20,000.00, for
<br /> alleged injuries sustained in a fall on a defective sidewalk on Riverine Street,
<br /> approximately 150' south of the southerly curb of Eighth Street, was referred to
<br /> the Attorney and Insurance Carrier.

<br /> from the Board. of Supervisors, dated December ll, 1956, giving the results of the
<br /> votes cast at the Special Election held December 4, 1956, on the proposition to con~
<br /> solidate County Sanitation Districts No.~ i and No. 7 into a District to be known as
<br /> County Sanitation District No. 17, was received and filed.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel and carried, the request of
<br /> Richard H. Kendall, on behalf of the Santiago District, Boy Scouts of ;~erica, for
<br /> permission to conduct a parade on Saturday, Febrna~y 9, 1957, was granted subject
<br /> to the approval of the Chief of Police as to the time and route of the parade.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the written recom-
<br /> mendation of the City Manager, dated January 7, 1957, setting forth salary step
<br /> increases for two employees, effective January l, 1957, and for three employees,
<br /> effective February l, 1957, was received, filed and approved.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel and carried, the check of H.M.
<br /> Neighbour, Jr., in the sum of $157.50, and money order in the sum of $540.00, filed
<br /> as bonds for sidewalk improvements in Tracts Nos. 1299 and 1502, were ordered re-
<br /> leased and the improvements accepted as completed.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Jerome and carried, Change Order No. 2
<br /> was authorized for the installation of an under-drain system, Specification No. 2,
<br /> on the construction of the Reservoir at First and Flower Streets, in the amount of

<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Manager was
<br /> authorized to file a Notice of Completion on contract of Elmer E. Barnett, for the
<br /> construction of sanitary sewers on English Street from 15th to 17th Streets, and on
<br /> Nineteenth Street from Flower to Greenleaf Streets.

<br /> On recommendation of the Man~er and on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by
<br /> Heinly and carried, the request of Steed Bros., on behalf of Pacific Telephone and
<br /> Telegraph Company, 201 E. Fifth Street, was granted to move the existing canopy,
<br /> walkway and fence to occupy 14 feet from the curb lines on Bush Street.
