<br /> were received and filed.

<br /> On faction of Counc]lm-n Helzh~y, seconded by Markel and carried, the following
<br /> Ordinance entitled:

<br /> "Ordinance providing for the holding of a General Municipal
<br /> Election in the City of Santa Aha, California, on the 9th
<br /> day of April, 1957, for the election of City Officers of
<br /> said City, giving notice of.said Election~ designating the
<br /> polling places, the hours during which the polls shall be
<br /> opened, the officers to be elected, and appointing Election
<br /> Officers to serve at said Election"
<br />
<br /> was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
<br />
<br /> C~m"",-~catiOn was read from Edward B. Riniker, 1~19 Bush Street, protesting against
<br /> trash and garbage cans of Chef's Hut and Markham Appliance Company, which are' left,
<br /> for long periods of time, on the sidewalk on the west side of Bush Street, at the
<br /> M~krkham Parking Lot, and also that Markham Appliance Company have not complied with
<br /> conditions imposed on their variance for the Parking Lot. On motion of Councilman
<br /> t~arkel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the protest was referred to the M~n~ger for
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilmen Helnly, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials
<br /> were authorized to execute agreement dated Febx,,_ary 18th, 1957, with ~lessrs. Remberg
<br /> and Lowrey covering architectural services in con~ection with the erection of a
<br /> bandshell in the Memorial Park.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Ne~nly, seconded by Markel and carried, the requests of
<br /> Hurry Tancredi for the vacation of a po~-tion of Poinsettia Street located at the
<br /> southeast corner of 17th and Poinsettia Streets, lying along the Santa Aha Freeway,
<br /> and from G.J.Nardulli for the vacation of a 22' ~!!ey located 90.OB' north of the
<br /> intersection on the west side of Valencia Street and the Santa Aha Freeway, were
<br /> referred to the Planning Commission for action.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by ~arkel and carried, the Purchasing Agent
<br />was authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of nine brick stoves and
<br />two double sinks in the Park known as "Fairview and Center PropertffJ in accordance
<br />with Specification No. 691-~; bids to be opened ~Iarch ~, 1957.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counc41mau Heimly, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication
<br />from Southern California Council of Outdoor Advertising opposing Senate Bill 666
<br />reference outdoor advertising was referred to the Council as a corem4 ttee of the whol
<br />for report at the next regular meeting.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Coun¢flm-~ Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitle~
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 57-B2 concernt~ parking limitations and
<br /> curb markings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />establishing a yellow zone on the north side of Sixth St'.et between Main amd
<br />Sycamore Streets, reference request of Santa tn~ Hotel, was considered and passed b~
<br />the following vote:
