Minter <br /> <br />City of Orange <br />Proposed annexation <br /> <br />Proposed annexation <br />City of Garden Grove <br />Annexation No. 17 <br /> <br />Public auction of <br />certain properties <br /> <br />due to being raised unevenly and cracked by the roots of the parkway tree planted <br />and maintained by City forces. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel <br />and carried, the communication was referred to the Manager and Park Department. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilm~ Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, the request of the <br />L.A.M.S.F.A. League, Hollandia Soccer Club of Orange, for free rental of the <br />Municipal Bowl for the purpose of conducting a charity exhibition soc~e~ game for <br />the "March of Dimes", was received and filed. On motion of Councilman Heinly, <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the request was referred to the Manager with in- <br />structions to secure further information and report back. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Orange County Veterinary Medical Association, with <br />Resolution attached, advising that the rabies outbreak of 1955-56 in the County has <br />shown evidence of being at least temporarily controlled by means of mass i~muni~ <br />zation of the canine population of the County, and on May l, 1957 the agreement~ <br />with the County and the incorporated areas in' regard to the $2.00 vaccination fee <br />will be discontinued and resolving that a more equitable program be instituted. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Jerome and carried, the communication <br />and recon~mendations were received and filed. On motion of Councilman Markel, <br />seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendations were approved and a letter to <br />be directed to the Association conveying the appreciation and full cooperation of <br />the Council in this program. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, the bond of Louis <br /> B. Minter filed for the improvements within the boundaries of Record of Survey No. <br /> 184, on property at the northwest corner of Grand Avenue and Washington Place, in <br /> the sum of $1,000.00, was ordered released and improvements accepted as completed. <br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, Seconded by Jerome and carried, the communication <br /> from the City of Orange advising of proposed annexation No. 84, ~f property <br /> located northwest of Collins Avenue and Glassell Street, on the north side of <br /> Orange, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Markel, seconded by Jerome and carried, that the commun~ <br /> cation from the Boundary Commission be received and filed reference the proposed <br /> annexation of territory to the City of Garden Grove, Annexation No. 17, and a <br /> letter ordered directed to the City of Garden Grove advising the City of Santa Aha <br /> objects to this annexation as it overlaps a portion of the area in the proposed <br /> "South of Smeltzer Annexation". <br /> <br /> Conm~unication was read from the County Tax Collector advising that it is the intent <br /> ion to sell at public auction certain properties in the City of Santa Ana, and on <br /> motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication was <br /> received and filed. The Manager stated that accordi~ to the report of the <br /> Department of Public Works there are several parcels of property which ar~ highly <br /> desirable for ownership by the City and recommended that four parcels be acquired. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, that a letter be <br /> directed to the County Tax Collector advising of the City's desire to acquire the <br /> <br /> following properties: <br /> Tract No. 159 - W 128.69 ft. E 326.48 ft. Lot 33 AP 16-051-il Code ll-~2; <br /> Fisher Tract S 542.~2 ft. Lot C AP 7-120-05 Code ll-03, <br /> Lot 37.65 x 133.35 ft. in Sec. lB T 5 R l0 - 600.01 ft. S. of Fairview Avenue <br /> bounded east by Lowell Street AP 13-062-16 Code ll-03, and <br /> Tract N*. 23~ Und.½ int. in Lot 9 Blk B AP 7-262-06 Code ll-03 sub.02. <br /> <br /> <br />
