No. 57-54 <br />Authorizing execution of <br />Deed granting access <br />rights to 1st and Walnut <br />Streets (Income Centers, <br />Inc.) ~/1~' <br /> <br />Request <br />Income Centers, Inc. <br />(over-size driveways) <br /> <br />Request <br />Two-hour parking <br />800 block N.Birch St. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Department of Public Works and on motion of Councilman <br />Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the work was accepted as completed, for the <br />construction of paving,~ curb and gutter, and sidewalk on East Fourth Street, east <br />of the Santa Ana Freeway, for a distance of approximately 646 feet, as performed by <br />R.J.Noble Company, and the Manager instructed to file and record a Notice of <br />Completion. <br /> <br />The Manager reported reference the communication from James S. Utt et al in regard <br />to the water standing on East Chestnut Street immediately east of the Santa Fe <br />Railroad and stated that the condition was due to the construction taking place at <br />that time and the situation has now been corrected. On motion of Councilman Jerome <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the report was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilr~an Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation <br />of the curb usage committee was approved and the request of Aetna Finance, 227 North <br />Broadway, for a loading zone was denied. <br /> <br />The ~t~nager orally reported on the suggestions of Nathan Rubaloff reference certain <br />improvements to be made on a portion of the Walnut Street extension and stated he <br />advised Mr. Rubaloff the City would guarantee the paving of the street and construc- <br />tion of curbs and gutters in a part of Tract No. 2~9~, which is approximately 84' x <br />500'. On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the oral <br />report was approved.and accepted. <br /> <br /> The M~neger reported on the pretest of F.E.Carter and stated the condition of <br /> Russell Avenue between Shelton and Rosewood is essentially the same as various <br /> sections throughout this area~ oil has been applied at various times to the existing~ <br /> material and the chuck-holes referred to are mainly in the parking area and not in <br /> the travel,way. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markei and carried, the <br /> report was received, filed and approved. <br /> <br /> On motion of CounciLman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the recc~muendation <br /> of the curb usage committee was approved and the request of C.H.Gallion, for <br /> limited parking at 801 North Spurgeon Street, was denied. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Neinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation <br /> of the curb usnge committee was approved and the request of Montgomery Ward denied <br /> to park a trailer in either the yellow zone on Main Street or the last two metered <br /> zones at Fourth and Main Streets during the hours from ll A.M. to 4 P.M. March 21, <br /> 22 and 23, during the "truck load tire sale". <br /> <br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> Councilman Helnly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Resolution entitled <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 57-54 authorizing the execution of a deed <br /> granting access rights to First and Walnut Streets" <br /> <br /> to Income Centers, Inc., was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> A~s, Councilmen D~le H. Dahl <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen None <br /> tt <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation <br /> of the curb usage committee was approved and the request of Income Centers, Inc., <br /> granted for four 35 foot curb cuts at the service station to be constructed at First <br /> and Walnut Streets, located one-half mile ~mst of Artesia Street. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation <br /> of the curb usage committee was approved and the request of twenty-three persons <br /> that two-hour parking limit be established in the 800 block North Birch Street, was <br /> denied, subject to review by the committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
