G. Schenck~ Anaheim~ offering to increase the <br /> operational efficiency and effectiveness of the City Planning and Cdty Building <br /> Department as a qualified technician assist~nt~ and on motion of Councilman Jerome, <br /> seconded by Heinly and carried, the communication was received, filed and referred <br /> to the Manager. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Mrs. Ross favoring the off-street parking law~ and on <br /> motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication was <br /> received and filed. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the California Sewage and Industrial ~4astes Association <br /> urging the Council to be represented at the ~th s~unua~ conference to be held at <br /> San Diego, May 1st to 4th, 1957~ and on motion of CounciLman Jerome, seconded by <br /> Markel and carried~ the communication was received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by ~4arkel and carried, the communication <br /> from the State Board of Equalization giving the statistics on the total local sales <br /> and use tax distributions since the City's entry into the program~ was received and <br /> filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the applications of <br /> Wayne J. Bullard, Vance E. White, Kenneth R. Peters~ Norman T. Blansett, Joseph L. <br /> Bower, Jr., ttoy H. Donaldson, Jefferson Leo Robbins, Jr.~ James Harvey Creger, <br /> Robert B. Haxton, Donald E. SJi. ple, ~21 East McFadden <br /> Street, were received and filed. <br /> <br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> Counc~]m~n Markel, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Resolution entitle~ <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 57-8~ declaring stop intersection" <br /> <br /> on Birch Street at ..Jalnut Street, was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes~ Councilmen J. Heinly <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />The Council having unan~nously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitle~ <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 57-85 concerning parking limitations and curb <br /> markings in accordance therewith" <br /> <br />establishing red zones on the north and south sides of Walnut Street between Birch <br />and Broadway and on the north and south sides of Walnut Street between Birch and <br />Ross Streets; and on the east and west sides of Birch Street between Walnut and Firs <br />Streets, and on the east and west sides of Birch Street between Walnut and Pine <br />Streets, was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
