The Manager read the report of the Police <br />Record Bureau setting out the statistical report of the crimes involving autos <br />parked in private areas and public streets since the adoption of the present OrdinanCe <br />prohibiting all-night parking of cars on the public streets. Councilman Gould read <br />the proposed Ordinance regulating all-night parking, as amended, and moved that the <br />Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance amending Sections 3211, 3211.1, 3211.2 and 3211.3 of <br /> the Santa Aha Municipal Code regulating ali-night parking and <br /> repealing other Sections" <br /> <br />be considered and placed on file for second reading. Councilman Hubbard seconded <br />the motion. Councilman Markel gave his reasons why he favored the present Ordinance <br />prohibiting ,]1 -night parking of cars on the public streets. <br /> <br /> Councilmen Roy E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Heinly <br /> Councilmen None <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation <br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Emma Childers granted to <br /> permit the use of lot at 1506 North Sycamore Street, for a parking area in connection <br /> with adjacent medical building. <br /> <br /> On motion of Counci]m~n Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation <br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and the revised variance of Henry S. and <br /> <br /> Jo Inez Hellwegg granted to permit the construction of a one-story, five-unit, one- <br /> bedroom a~artment building, on property at ll30 Orange Avenue, with setbacks as <br /> shown on the plot plan, subject to the conditions of the Commission and the Depart- <br /> ment of Public Works. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission reco,,,ending approval of variance <br />of Burt and Esther M. Huff to permit the use of property located at the northwest <br />corner of Grand Avenue and Stafford Street, for construction of a building for a <br />restaurant, drug store and office for general contractors; subject to conditions of <br />the Commission and the Department of Public Works. Mr. Huff protested the condition <br />of the Department of Public Works that there be no access to Grand Avenue. On <br />motion of Co%l~ctlman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation of <br />the Planning Comm! ~sion was approved and the variance of Burr and Esther M. Huff <br />granted, subject to conditions that the building be reversed or redesigned so that <br />the portion of the building 60' from east to west be placed adjacent to the northerly <br />lot line, that the building be limited to a single-story structure, not to exceed : <br />5400 square feet; the front area be blacktopped and space provided for at least 35 <br />cars, a 5' wall constructed along the west boundary line up to the front setback <br />line of Stafford Street, and the additional area of 28' on the south end of the <br />building be blacktopped fo~ parking, and subject to condition of Department of <br /> <br />Public Works. <br /> <br />Cnmmunication was read from the Planning Commission recnmmending denial of variance <br />application of G.J.Nardu~ to permit the use of property located at the northwest <br />corner of Valencia Street and the Freeway Ramp-up, on the parcel north of the existing <br />alley, to construct a two-story dwelling with eight units, one and two bedrooms each, <br />with parking for each unit; also, construct a two-stery dwelling, with six units, <br />one and two bedrooms each, with parking for each unit, on parcel south of the exist- <br />ing alley. Communication was also read from Mr. Nardulli requesting that the appli. <br />cation be referred to the Planning Commission in order that a new plot plan may be <br /> <br /> <br />
