<br />On motion of Counc~lm~ Markel, seconded by Nm.ll and carried, the communication fro~i
<br />the Boundary ConEission was received and filed advising of proposed annexation of
<br />
<br />territory to the City of Garden Grove "Revised Annexation No. 1~", of property
<br />
<br />located southwest of Trask and Berryda!e Avenues.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counc~lma~ Hall, seconded by Hubbeaxl and carried, the communication from
<br />
<br />the Boundary Commission was received and filed advising of the proposed annexation
<br />
<br />of territory to the City of Garden Grove "Annexation No. 19", of property located
<br />
<br />south of Westminster and west of Garden Grove Annex No. 11, the boundaries of which
<br />
<br />are reasonably certain and definite, although it does overlap a portion of the area
<br />
<br />in the proposed "South of Smeltzer Annexation" to the City of Santa Ana.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, that the Cities of
<br />
<br />Tustin and Garden Grove be notified that their proposed ~nnexations known as the
<br />
<br />"Northwest Annexation" and "Annexation No. 19", respectively, overlap a portion of
<br />
<br />the areas proposed to be annexed and legally filed upon by the City of Santa Ana,
<br />
<br />and the Clerk be directed to notify the Cities of Santa Ana's objection.
<br />
<br />Petitions were presented signed by 24 owners of property requesting that proceedings
<br />be initiated for an assessment district for the construction of pavement, curb and :
<br />gutter, grading appurtenances and appurtenant work where necessary, in the area
<br />described as the north half of Myrtle Street between D~isy Avenue and Artesia Street
<br />
<br />all of Pine Street between Daisy Avenue and Artesia Street, and the east half of
<br />
<br />Daisy Avenue between First and Myrtle Streets. On motion of Councilman Hall,
<br />seconded by Hubbard and carried, the petitions were referred to the Clerk to contrac~
<br />for the checking of the percentage of the area represented by the petitions.

<br />On motion of Cotmc~lman Hall~ seconded by Markel and carried, the communication froml
<br />
<br />Temple Beth Sholom advising they will be unable to use the Municipal Bowl on May
<br />
<br />18th, for a concert progrsm due to the acoustics, was received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the applications of
<br />
<br />John J. Miller, Barbara J. Reed, Richard O. Bishop, Lionel L. Stebbins, Ann E. Moser
<br />
<br />Raymond D. Bullinger, Jack A. Mesna, Charles F. Trapp, James R. Glean, Phillip J.
<br />L~Jeunesse, Carl F. Blades, Kermit R. Pyrah, Florence L. lmyrah, D~vid W. Ahlborn,
<br />
<br />Wallace L. Burley, Dominic D. Bulone, Bobbie M. Bell and Roscoe J. Green, to drive
<br />
<br />taxicabs, were approved and permits granted.

<br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the notifications
<br />
<br />of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control of beverage applications of Mary G.
<br />
<br />and Pedro G. Castro, 1904 W. 3rd Street, and Frank L. Torres, 312 E. 4th Streets,
<br />-,*ere received and filed.
<br />
<br />Councilman Markel orally stated his opinion reference the proposed industrial
<br />
<br />development on the southwest corner of Bristol Street and Delhi Road and read an
<br />article in the March issue of Western Cities on zoning. It was moved by Councilman
<br />
<br />Markel that the ~mmediate development of the area in question be suspended until such
<br />
<br />time as a Master Plan is determined upon by the City of Santa Ana. It was moved by
<br />
<br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried, that the Manager be directed to
<br />
<br />instruct the Planning Department to take such steps as are necessary to effect an
<br />i~nediate Master Plan, ~s required by the Charter, and report on industries,
<br />residences, businesses and other interests in this develolx~ent, as soon as possible.
