<br />The Manager orally reported on the communication from the Metropolitan Water
<br />
<br />District of Southern California enclosing copies of letters and policy statement
<br />
<br />relating to the delivery of unsoftened Colorado River water to the Central and West
<br />
<br />Basin areas in Los Angeles County. On motion Of councilman Markel, seconded by
<br />
<br />Hubbard and carried, the recon~endation of the Manager was accepted and the Clerk
<br />
<br />instructed to notify the District that the Council approves the proposed plans and
<br />
<br />program with the provision that no portion of the cost of this development shall
<br />
<br />be charged against the City of Santa Ana or any property therein.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials
<br />
<br />were authorized to execute a Waiver of the 90-day termination notice in paragraph
<br />8 of Lease dated April 12, 1955, with the State of California, Department of
<br />
<br />Education, for the leasing of certain rooms at ll04 West Eighth Street.
<br />
<br />The Manager orally reported on the cc~mnunication from the Chamber of Co~erce in
<br />
<br />regard to .chanGe in effective hours for parking time limits in Central Traffic
<br />
<br />District, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the
<br />at this time
<br />recommendation of the Manager was approved that no action be takem_/~nd a copy of
<br />
<br />the report of the Traffic Engineer be forwarded to the Chamber of Commerce.
<br />
<br />The Cou~ncil having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilmsu Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution
<br />
<br />entitled:
<br />
<br />"Resolution No. 57-166 expressing regret and sympathy at the
<br />death of Dr. Dale E. Brockett"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:
<br />

<br />installing a Stop Sign on Second Street at Spurgeon Street, as recommended by the
<br />
<br />Traffic Engineer, was considered and passed by the following vote:
