<br /> Center, was received and filed.

<br /> League of United Latin American Citizens that they be considered as a bona fide
<br /> bidder for the Fire Station Building on North Sycamore Street, was referred to the

<br /> adopted prohibiting parking on either side of the 84 foot road which was dedicated
<br /> to the City in the southwest industrial area fram Harbor Boulevard to Fairview
<br /> Road,was referred to the Manager for rec~mumndation.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the request of
<br />the South Main Improvement Association that immediate action be taken for the
<br />widening of Main Street south from the Freeway, was referred to the Manager for
<br />appropriate action.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counc~lm~. Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the request of
<br />Ferguson A. Wilson for a special license to permit the use of a public address
<br />system on his car, to conduct open-air religious services at various places, such
<br />as parks, shopping centers and along the streets, was referred to the Manager and
<br />Attorney for appropriate action and recommendation.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councd]m~n Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the claim of John
<br />Rolfe Montano for alleged personal injuries in the sum of $25,000.00 caused by the
<br />exterior doors of the Fremont School not bein~ equipped with safety glass or
<br />shatterproof glass and the automatic door closer improperly regulated, was referred
<br />to the Attorney and Insurance Carrier.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the application of
<br />Southern California Chapter, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, for penuission
<br />to solicit funds August 13 to ~5, 1957, was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication
<br />from Myron F. Schilling · and' the information secured from the County of Los
<br />Angeles, Department of Parks and Recreation, regarding fencing of private swtmming
<br />pools, were received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the notifications
<br />of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control of beverage applications of Arthur
<br />R. Delgado, 417 North Artesia Street and Jack L. Gosney, 2038~ South Main Street,
<br />were received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the oral request of
<br />Carl J. Thornton, M~n~ger, was granted for permission to leave the State from
<br />August 21st through.September 6th, 1957.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Markel, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
