Frank <br />Gelinas, Secretary-~n-ger of the Chamber of Commerce stated the City ca~ot affor~ <br />not to have the plant in this district. Numerous persons gave their reasons why <br />they objected to the establishment of the Electro-Data plant and other persons gave~ <br /> <br />reasons why they favored the industry. On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded <br /> <br />by Ha! ! and carried, the hearing was continued until October 7, 1957. <br /> <br />~his being the date set for the continued hearing on the adoption of the proposed <br /> <br />Civil Service Rules and Regulations, no protests w~re received and on motion of <br /> <br />Counc~ lm~ Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Ordinance entitle <br /> <br />"Ordinance No. NS-277 repealing Chapter 2 of Article II of the <br /> Santa Aha Municipal Code, and adopting by reference Civil Service <br /> Rules and Regulations to carry out the intent a~ purpose of the <br /> Civil Service provisions of the Charter of the City of Santa Aha" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Royal E. William Risko, 915 West Berkeley Street presented a petition signed <br /> <br />by approximately fifty persons protesting the variance and stated the property <br /> <br />should remain as R-1 District. Two persons stood in protest. Webb Br~wn, repre~ <br /> <br />senting the applicant, stated there would be no traffic hazard and the duplexes <br /> <br /> <br />
