<br /> Communication was read from Case-Swayne Co. Inc~ advising they will continue to
<br /> recognize every complaint which is made by residents of the area as to the operation
<br /> of their Plant and are willing to cooperate with all concerned, and on motion of
<br /> Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication was received
<br /> and filed.

<br /> Communication was read from the Mayor, City of ~an Diego, and Chairmau, Executive
<br /> Committee, extending an invitation to the Council to attend the Fourth Japan-Americs
<br /> Pacific Area Conference of Mayors and Chamber of C~mmerce Presidents, to be held in
<br /> San Diego, November 3-7, 1957, and on motion of Councilm-u Hubbard, seconded by
<br /> Markel and carried, the cr~m,unication was received and filed.

<br /> On motion of Counc~ma~ Hubbard, seconded by Narkel and carried, the Manager was
<br /> authorized to enter into an agreement with the Board of ~ealtors for the sale of the
<br /> North Sycamore Street Fire Station for $25,000.~0, according to provisions of the
<br /> Municipal Code.

<br /> It was moved by Counctlm,~ ~ar~l.a~M~ seconded by Hubbard, that the application of
<br /> The Henry Armstrong International Youth Foundation for permission to solicit funds
<br /> September 25th to October 25th, 1957 be approved.

<br /> Street be sold to the adjacent landowner, Ramona TruJillo, on the east, for $1.00.
<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br /> Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 57-249 authorizing and directing the sale of
<br /> certain property owned by the City of Santa Aha"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />Communication was read from Skiatron T.V.System requesting a license to build, con-'
<br />struct, equip, own, maintain and operate a closed circuit T.V. system, and on motion
<br />of Councilman Nubbard, seconded by N~ ~ and carried, the matter was referred to the
<br />Attorney for report October P_l, 1957.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard that the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance amending Chapter 2 of Article VIII of the Santa Aha
<br /> Municipal Code to amend the Uniform Pl~mabing Code, 1955 Edition"
<br />
<br />be introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. Motion lost for
<br />lack of a second.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilma~ Markel, seconded by Gould and carried, the written recom-
<br />mendation of the City Manager, dated September 16, 1957, setting forth salary step
<br />increases for six employees, effective October l, 1957, was received, filed and
<br />approved.
<br />
<br />The Council having -~nimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Na~ ~ and carried, the following ~esolution entitled
<br />
<br /> "Hesolution No. 57-250 concerning parking l~mftations and curb
<br /> markfngs in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />establishing a green zone on the west side of French Street between Fifteenth and
<br />Washington Avenue, reference request of L.L.Snyder, 1330 French Street, was con-
<br />sidered and passed by the following vote:
