Cochran and Albert M. Kochan, <br />804 East Third Street, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the request of <br /> <br />the Disabled American Veterans, Jack Fisher Chapter 23, for pennission to solicit <br /> <br />Request <br />Superior Court <br />Department 6 <br /> <br />funds November 7, 8, 9, 1957, was granted. <br /> <br />Conmaunication was read from Acti~ Presiding Judge Robert Gardner of the Superior <br />COurt requesting Department 6 of Superior Court be permitted the use of the Cou~il <br />Chamber as a temporary Courtroom until such time as County buildings are available. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the communicatio~ <br /> <br />was received and filed, and the use of the Council Chamber was granted for Depart- <br /> <br />ment 6 of Superior Court to commence at a time to be agreed upon between the <br /> <br />Manager and the Presiding Judge and that no compensation to be paid at this time <br /> <br />but reserve the right to charge for additional costs resulting to the City through <br /> <br />Communication <br />Radio KWIZ <br /> <br />this occupancy. <br /> <br />Councilman Gould read a letter addressed to him from Pat ~lichaels, News Director, <br /> <br />Radio KWIZ containing al ]eged information concerning misconduct of Assistant Chief <br /> <br />Police Forrest Duke and several other Police Officers. On motion of Councilman <br /> <br />Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the con~munication was received and filed. <br /> <br />Chief Edward J. Allen said the writer has resorted to insinuations, half-truths <br /> <br />and untruths to blacken the name of the Department and this is not the first time <br /> <br />he has resorted to this type of surmise, inference and conjecture; Santa Ana must <br /> <br />rid itself of character assassins who through mediums of communication exercise <br /> <br />the power that intimidates decent people. Councilman Gould explained that he <br /> <br />had been out of town at the time of the incident and did not personally know about <br /> <br />the facts but had re~ived numerous telephone calls in regard to the mutter. <br /> <br />Mayor Heinly terminated the discussion by stating the City Administration has been <br /> <br />Application <br />Skiatron T.V. <br />System <br /> <br />directed to handle its own problem. <br /> <br />A report was read from th~ City Attorney reference request of Skiatron T.V.System <br /> <br />for a license to build, construct, equip, own, maintain and operate a closed <br /> <br />circuit T.V. system, and on motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and car- <br /> <br />ried, the report was received and filed. On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconde <br /> <br />by Markel and carried, the matter was referred to the City Council as a c~mnittee <br /> <br />Reso. No. 57-270 <br />Establish green zone <br />Edison School <br /> <br />of the whole. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitle <br /> <br /> 'Resolution No. 57-270 concerning parking limitations and curb <br /> markings in accordance therewith" <br /> <br />establishing a green zone on the east side of Orange Avenue between St. Gertrude <br /> <br />Place and St. Andrew Place, reference request of Edison School P.T.A., was con- <br /> <br />sidered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Aye s, CounciLmen <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />Royal E.
