<br /> released and improvements accepted as completed.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the plans and
<br /> specifications were approved for the paving of Delhi Road from Harbor Boulevard to
<br /> Fairview Road (existin4;), Project C-lO.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the P~rchasi~
<br /> Agent was authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of street improve-
<br /> ments on Walnut Street from Daisy Street to Pacific Avenue, Project No. 107; bids
<br /> to be opened November 4, 1957.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, secon&ed by Hall and carried, the application of
<br /> Educational Committee of The Council of Churches of Santa Ana for permission to
<br /> solicit funds October 31, 1957, was granted.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, proper officials
<br /> were authorized to execute lease dated October 21, 1957 with Toastmasters Inter-
<br /> national for rental of additional rooms knowu as Nos. 138, 139, 140 and 141 at
<br /> 1~04 ~est Eighth Street, at a rental of $69.00 per month.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, action was continued
<br /> until November 18~ 1957 on the lease with the Executors of the R. B. Newcom estate
<br /> for premises located at 309 West Fifth Street, presently occupied by the Children's
<br /> Library.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, proper officials
<br /> were authorized to execute contract dated October 2_l, 1957, for the employment of
<br /> Floyd E. Weaver, Structural Engineer, in connection with the construction of a
<br /> sw~mi~ pool on the Santa Ana Junior College camPUs.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried~ the following

<br /> ~¢territory to the City of Garden Grove, Annexation No. 30, are reasonably definite
<br /> ?,and certain, although it is an illogical cut of the southeast portion 330 feet in
<br /> width,
<br /> From the Santa Ana Lawn Bowling Club expressing their thanks and appreciation to
<br /> ~6~the Council for the consideration and cooperation rendered in connection with the
<br /> bowling green and especially to the Parks and Recreation Department for the fine
<br /> upkeep of the green,
<br /> From the Orange County Street Naming Committee submitting a statement pertaining
<br />"~¢¢ to street names for the principal highways of Orange County,
<br /> 0~From Mrs. R.M. Claxton of Elsinore approving of one-way streets but objecting to
<br /> the traffic signal at Third and Sycamore Streets and the difficulty in crossing
<br /> First Street at Sycamore Street, and
<br /> ~The audit report of Diehl, Evans and Company for the fiscal year ended June 30,
<br /> 1957.

<br /> It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, that the City
<br /> Council go on record as being in favor of the Orange County Street Naming Committee
<br /> efforts to end some of the confusion caused by Highways having several names.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the Purchasing Agent
<br /> was authorized to advertise for bids for the following materials and equipment; bid
<br /> to be opened November 4, 1957:

<br /> (2) One Truck Chassis and Cab, per Specification No. 624-4,
