Palladin requesting the postponement of the construction and widening of <br />South Main Street from FLrst to Walnut Streets, on the west side, was received and <br /> <br />filed. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilma~ Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the communication <br /> <br />from the State of California, Department of Public Works, advising that the quar- <br />terly allocation of 5/85 gas tax funds to Santa Ana is $55,259.60, for the period <br /> <br />ending September 30, 1957, was received and filed. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Huobard, secomxled by Markel and carried, the communication <br />and Resolution from the Los Angeles Metropolitan Traffic Association, was received <br />and filed, urging the adoption of a slmtlar Resolution adopted by the Executive <br />Co~.ittee,petitioning Congress to enact the necessary legislation authorizing the <br />Secretary of Ccmmerce to more equitable apportion funds to the several states for <br />construction and completion of the National System of Interstate and Defense High- <br />ways. On motio~ of Councilman Hall, seconded by Markel and carried, the matter was <br />referred to the Attorney and Manager for the preparation of a Resolution. <br /> <br />On motion of Counc~m~ Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the request of John R° <br />Buesing, dba Los Angeles Patrol Service, with bond in the amount of $1,000. OO and <br />check of $20.00 attached, for a permit to operate a private detective and patrol <br />service, formerly operated by George Whitney, 920 South Main Street, Santa Aha, <br />was received and fi2ed.
