Acker of Associated Ambulance Service appeared before the Council and again requested action be taken to regulate ambulances in the City and an 0rdinan be adopted similar to the rebuzlations of the City of San Bernardino. Councilman Markel stated a committee had been appointed to recommend an Ordinance regulating ambulance service and reported on the committee's findings. On motion of Council- man Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the matter was continued until Januaz 20, 1958 when the Attorney is to present a draft of the Ordinance as recommended the committee. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the Preliminary Map submitted by Donald D. Randall on property located approximately 288 feet west of Lyon Street with an approximate 325 foot frontage on Chestnut Street, was ap- proved subject to the conditions of the Department of Public Works. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendatio: of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Roland R. Laursen granted to permit construction of a building on rear part of property at 702 North Grand Avenue, to be used to process and develop photographs for editorial and advertising clientele, the great majority of which will be dealt with (interviewed and photographed) away fro~ this site, in accordance with new plot plan submitted Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denial of variance application of Harold J. and Irene V. Borchardt, to permit the use of the entire single-family dwelling on property at 1417 North Bristol Street, for offices of one doctor. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recgmmendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance denied. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 58-1 authorizing execution of agreement with Southern Pacific Company for installation of flashing light sign~.l s at the McFadden Street railroad crossing" was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Noe s, Councilmen Absent, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly None A. A. Hall The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 58-2 declaring the withdrawal of certain territories from the 'Tustin Lighting District'" was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen A.A.Hall The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of Counci!msn Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance No. NS-299 declaring the annexation of that certain territory designated 'Fairview and Raitt S. W. Annex ~" was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Noes, Councilmen Absent, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly None A.A.Hall
