<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of
<br /> Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the followin~g Ordinance
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance No. NS-300 ~-nding Article IX of the Santa Ana
<br /> Munici~ Code creating changes in district boundaries, and
<br /> adding new Sheet No. 71 of the Districting Map to show the
<br /> reclassification"
<br />
<br /> of property recently annexed and known as the "Sullivan and Willits W. of Annex",
<br /> consisting of approximately twelve acres, situated on the west side of Sullivan
<br /> Street, beginning at a point approximately 1800 feet south of the southwest corner
<br /> of First and Sullivan Streets, thence extending south on Sullivan Street 413.16 feet
<br /> and west of Sullivan Street, for a depth of 1263.~£eet, from the R-1 District to
<br /> the R-3 District, reference amendment initiated by the Plaani~ Commission, ~as
<br /> considered and passed by the following vote:

<br /> It was moved by Counci~m~n Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that action be
<br /> continued until January 20, 1958 on Ordinance amending Section 63~1 through 6391.h
<br /> regulating pawnbrokers and secondhand dealers.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, proper officials
<br /> were authorized to execute lease with the County of Orange for use of the Lounge,
<br /> Con~nittee Room and Kitchen at llO~ West 8th Street, by Veterans Foreign Wars Post
<br /> No. 7140, between the hours of 7:30 P.M. and 12:00 midnight, on the second and
<br /> fourth Wednesdays, at a rental of $25.00 per month, beginning July 10, 1957, for a
<br /> term of one year.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials
<br />were authorized to execute Pipe Line License with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
<br />Railway Company, dated December 10, 1957, for the installation of one 12 inch water
<br />line across right-of-way andundermain track of Mile Post 176 $ 1003.15 feet in
<br />McClay Street.
<br />
<br />On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of The
<br />Orange County Heart Association was granted to solicit funds during the month of
<br />February, 1958.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counci~m~n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the bond filed by
<br />Co-Mar Homes, Inc., in the sum of $~,000.00 and filed for the improvements of
<br />C~m~le Street between Maple and Oak Streets, in Tract No. 2657~ was ordered released
<br />and improvements accepted as completed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the bond filed by
<br />Dike and Colegrove, in the sum of $120,000.00 and filed for the improvements of
<br />Hobart, Halladay, Hickory, Cedar, Evergreen, Russell, Oxford, Griffith Place,
<br />Wilshire and Standard Avenues, in Tract No. 2626, was ordered released and improve-
<br />ments accepted as cumpleted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication
<br />from Mrs. Weston Walker, on behalf of California Gardsn Clubs, Inc., expressing her
<br />views reference the removal of trees on South ~4ain Street and the contemplated
<br />removal of trees on Nortda Main Street, also suggesting the beautification of the
<br />parking lots and the placing of planter boxes in the downtown area, was received
<br />filed.
