Annex" <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommnending approval of <br />variance of Vernm W. and Ruth Hudson to permit construction of a two-family duplex <br />with two bedrooms each unit, at the rear of existing single-family residence on <br />front portion of the lot, on property situated at 1517 Durant Street, in an R-2 <br />District, with a four-car detached garage with paved apron to the alley, to the <br />rear of proposed duplex, and a decrease in rear setback line from 10' to 9', in <br />order to maintain proper distances between buildings. Heinly <br />None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, that the matter be <br /> continued until April 21, 1958. <br /> <br /> Mayor Heinly left the meeting at 8:25 P.M. Vice-Mayor Markel assumed the Chair. <br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval of pro- <br /> posed plan for the John Adams park site situated on the north side of Delhi Road <br /> west of Raitt Street, as submitted by the Department of Recreation and Parks, and <br /> on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the proposed plan <br /> was approved. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending a ninety-day <br /> extension of time from March 16, 1958, on variance of Lyle W. Bryant, granted <br /> September 16, 1957, for the construction of four triplex units on property at 2201- <br /> 2205 Kilson Drive and 2202-2206 Hickory Street, with the provision that the <br /> setback line be 50 feet from center of the street. On motion of Councilm~n Hubbard <br /> seconded by Gould and carried, the extension of time was granted subject to the <br /> condition. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motinn of <br />Coune~lmau Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance No. NS-311 amending Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal <br /> Code creating changes in district boundaries, and amending Sheet <br /> No. 70 of the Districting Map to show the reclassification" <br /> <br />from R-1 District to the C-1-PK District, property consisting of approximately 20 <br />acres situated at the southwest corner of Tustin Avenue and Seventeenth Street, sai~ <br />property having a frontage of 637 feet on Tustin Avenue and 1430 feet on Seventeent~ <br />Street, reference Planning Commission initiated amendment No. 247, was considered <br />and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stantey C. Gould, Jr., <br /> A.A.N~11, J. Ogden Markel <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen Dale N. Heinty <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Gould and carried, action was continued <br />until April 21, 1958 on the Ordinance declaring the annexation of that certain <br />territory designated "Delhi and Main S. W. Annex". <br /> <br />The Council having una/limously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of <br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by (kuld and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance No. NS-312 declaring the annexation of that certain <br /> territory designated 'McFadden and Lyon S.E.
