<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled
<br />
<br />"Resolution No. 58-94 indorsing the prosperity program of the
<br />Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />The Clerk orally reported that the petition for Assessment District/on Sixth Street
<br />
<br />west of Hawley Street was checked as to percentage and it was found that 62.88% of
<br />the area signed the petition. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould
<br />and carried, the Department of Public Works was instructed to prepare plans and
<br />
<br />specifications to provide sidewalks, curbs, etc. in accordance with the petition
<br />
<br />for an assessment district.
<br />
<br />Communication was presented from the South Main Improvement Association requesting
<br />status of individual petitions, dated November 8, 1957, from property owners on
<br />
<br />South Main Street between Edinger and Delhi Road asking that a lighting assessment
<br />district be formed for the installation of modern mercury-vapor light standards in
<br />
<br />this particular area. On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carrie
<br />
<br />the Manager was instructed to advise the Association of the status of the matter.
<br />~ouncilman Heinly disqualified himself on the following motion.
<br />It was moved by Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that permission
<br />
<br />be granted to transfer the taxicab permit for the operation of the Black and Green
<br />
<br />Cab business, 316 Bush Street, from L. E. Powell to ~]ma E. Powell, and to change
<br />the color scheme of the taxicabs to green, white and black.
<br />
<br />Communication was presented fro~ Holiday Lanes, Inc., 2015 West First Street, re-
<br />
<br />questing an amendment to the Ordinance to permit the billiard rosm to be open at all
<br />
<br />hours instead of closing said room at midnight, and on motion of Councilman Gould,
<br />seconded by Hubbard and carried, the matter was referred 'to the Manager for recom-
<br />
<br />mendation.
