On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard <br />and carried, the request was denied and the Manager instructed to inform the firm <br /> <br />the reasons for the denial. <br />,, <br />It was moved by Councdlman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, that Lease No. <br />DA-O4-376-NG-251, dated January 1, 1955, and amended January 7, 1957, with the <br />Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, California Air National Guard, he <br />further amended to authorize the use of space at the Community Center on West 8th <br />Street, adjacent to the blacktopped area ~ediately west of the existing fenced <br />parking lot for parking of trucks and Srailers, in consideration of the lessee <br />fencing said area with a fence similar to the fence heretofore installed on the <br /> <br />ta~ and that no temporary structures or tents he erected. <br />. <br />On motion of Oouncilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, proper officials <br />were authorized to renew the lease with Allison Honer Ccmpany for one year from <br />September 30, 1958, at the increased rental of $152.00, of the property at the rear <br />of the City Hall for parking facilities. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, proper officials <br />were authorized to execute a lease with the County of Orange, dated August 18, 1958, <br />for use of the loung$,committee room and kitchen in the Ccmmunity Center Clubhouse <br />by the Veteran's of World War I, Barracks 148 of Orange County, for one year c~- <br />mencing the 25th day of August, 1958, at the rental of $25.00 per month. <br /> <br />Om motion of Councilm~ Hubbard, seconded by Go~,l~ and carried~ the communication <br />from the State of California Department of Public Works advising that the gas tax <br />apportiomm~ut for the ~ua~ter ending June 30, 1958, is $47,616.80, was received and <br />fLled. <br /> <br />G~ mOtiOn ~f ~ouncilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of the . <br />Church of the Breth~rm for permission to receive offerings during their evening <br /> <br />serwice August 17th to be held at Memorial Park bandshell, was granted. <br />. <br />O~ motion of Oou~cilm~u Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carr~d, the application of . <br />~emple Beth Sholom of Orange County for permission to solicit funds during the <br />remainder of August and the months of September and October, on an Ad Book Project, <br /> <br />was granted. <br />,, <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of Mrs.~ <br />Arnold Walker on behalf of the members of the Richlan~ Ave. Methodist Church for <br />the use of Jerome Park for the purpose of holding a carnival September 12th to <br />raise funds to build on their property on Center Street across from the Park, was <br />granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seco~ed by Hall aud carried~ the notifications of <br />the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Oontrol of beverage applications of W. Gregor~ <br />Omberg, 701 W.
