On motion of Councilm~n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the plans and specifications were approved and the PurchaSing Agent authorized to advertise for bids to be opened October 6, 1~58, for the construction of storm drain on McFadden Commendation to Dept. of Public Works Bond release Tract No. 2840 - Hugh M. N~ighbour, Jr. Street from Maple Street to Halladay Street, Project No. C-S1. It was moved by Counci~m~u Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, that the Department of Public Works be con~nended for their expeditiousness of purpose and fulfillment of obligation to the citizens of this co~m~unity. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the bond of Hugh M. Neighbour, Jr., filed for the improvements of Marion Way and Santa Clara Avenue, in Tract No. 2840, in the sum of $4,000.00, was ordered released and improvements C~mmunication L. J. Holmberg accepted as completed. On motion of Councilm~n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the communication frc~ L. J. Holmberg, 618 Cypress Avenue, directing attention to the deplorable and dangerous condition of the sidewalk in front of 1659 East First Street, was Claim Gordon P. Cains et ux received, filed and referred to the Manager for appropriate investigation. Mayor Heialy disqualified himself on the following motion. On motion of Councilm~ Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the claim of Gordon P. and MarJorie ~E.Cal~s, in the sum of $1,725.00, for alleged d,mages to plants, shrubs and vegetation, caused by burning weeds on property at 1516 North English Street, was referred to the Attorney and Insurance Carrier.
