<br />the County of Or-~ge and the City, for use of the lounge, co~maittee room and
<br />kitchen in the Community Center Clubhouse, 1104 West 8th Street, by the Veteran~'S
<br />of World War 1, Barracks 148 of Orange County, at a rental of $25.00 per month, was
<br />received, filed and the organization notified that the facilities are no longer
<br />available to them as the County has discontinued paying the rental fee.

<br />On motion of Coll~c~lman C~d, seconded by ~all and carried, the Purchasing Agent
<br />was authorized to advertise for bids on Fire Alarm Cable, Specification 634-9, as
<br />follows: 14,300 ft. of 6 twisted pairs of ~16 and 3 solid #12 conductors, and
<br />10,600 ft. of 2 twisted pairs of ~16 and 2 solid ~12 conductors; bids to be opened
<br />December 1,

<br />On motion of Councf!m-~ Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the Cashier's check
<br />of the Pacific Southwest Realty Company, in the s~ of $1300.00, filed in lieu of
<br />bond to guarantee street ~ sidewalk improvements on one lot ~ocated at the south-
<br />east corner of Bristol Street and Delhi Road, within the boundaries of Record of
<br />Survey Map 224, was ordered released and improvements accepted as completed.

<br />On motion of Counctlm~u Gould, seconded by ~a~l and carried, the written recom-
<br />mendation of the Manager dated October 17, 1958, for salary step increases for one
<br />employee effective October l, 1958, and for three employees effective November l,
<br />1958, was appxl~w~d.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, that f~a~e Order
<br />No. 4 (revised) in the sma of $5989.90 and ~a~e Order No. 5 in the sma of $3703.00,
<br />be approved~ for the construction of the Library.

<br />The request of +.h~- Director of Public Works was read reference to clerical error
<br />
<br />in the extensions of contract bid of Paul R. Gardner Corporation, on Assessment
<br />District No. 201, South Main Street Lighting District. It was moved by Counctlm~
<br />Hubbard, seconded by Ball and carried, that the Minutes of the Council meeting of
<br />July 2_l, 1958, be --~nded to show the total contract of Paul Gardner Corporation~
<br />as $40,862.7B instead of $40,874.74.

<br />The Council havi~g un_~imously waived the reading of the l~solution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br /> mewkings in accordance therewith"

<br />establishing a bus loading zone on the south side of Hobart Street between Standard
<br />Avenue and the east property line of Evergreen Street extended, adjoining the
<br />Madison School yard; establishing a red zone on the east side of French Street
<br />between 15th and 14th Street and on the west side of French Street between 15th
<br />Street and Washington Avenue, at the Lincoln School, and establishing a green zone
<br />on the west side of Raitt Street between Delhi Road and the north property line of
<br />the A~-s School, as requested by the Board of Education, was considered and passed
<br />
