<br />Communication was again presented from the Planning Comission recommending approval
<br />of ch~n~e of street name from Santiago Way to Penn Way, as requested by Penn Van
<br />and Storage Company, and the recon~aendation of the Pl~nniag Department that the name
<br />of Santiago Avenue be changed to Santiago Street. Communication was read from the
<br />planning Department advising the owners of property fronting or siding on Santiago
<br />Way do not object to the change of nem~ to Penn Way. The Council having unanimously
<br />waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Couac~lman GoUld, seconded by
<br />Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br />On motion of Couaci!m~n Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved for a six months' extension of time on
<br />Variance Application No. 951 filed by Louis Rogers on bemlf of Hillcrest Rentals,
<br />to permit the erection of three "For Rent" signs on apartments located at 1B52, 1~O2
<br />and 1410 East Fruit Street, in R-~ District.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved for a ninety-day extension of time on
<br />Variance Application No. 1007 filed by ~nna M. and Edward L. ~lberts, to permit the
<br />erection of two temporary signs~ 2'~ x 10' in size, in 'order to advertise for a suit-
<br />able t~n~Bt, on property located at the Santa Aha Freeway, 3B6 feet west of Eastwood
<br />Avenue, in R-1 District.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Pla~niag Cc~mission was approved and Variance Application No. 1059 filed by
<br />Fairview Homes granted to permit construction of multiple apartment dwellings and
<br />to use Parcels 1 through 25 of Tract No. 270~, on property situated at the north-
<br />west corner of Edinger and Raitt Streets, in R-1 District, subject to conditions.

<br />
<br />of the Planning Commf ssion was approved and Variance Application No. 106~ filed by
<br />in accordance with submitted plot plan,
<br />C.J.Jones granted~ to permit construction of three two-story apartment buildings,
<br />
<br />to consist of a total of 25 two-bedroom units and 18 one-bedroom units, on property
<br />situated on the east side of Fairview Street, consisting of nine lots, bounded on
<br />the north by St. Gertrude Place and on the south by Pendleton Avenue, in R-3 District.
