No. 59-41 <br />Improved air facilities <br />and connections with <br />various Cities <br /> <br />Ordinance <br />Providing for holding <br />of General Municipal <br />Election on April 7, 1959 <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman F-!!, seconded by Gould and carried, the application of <br /> <br />M & W Bus Lines, Inc., before The Public Utilities Commission, for relocation of <br />terminal and rerouting, was referred to the Administrative Staff for reco~nendation <br /> <br />and report at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilm-n Gould, seconded by Markel and carried, bond in the sum of <br />$72,000.00, filed by Harmir Construction Inc., for the improvements of Shelton <br /> <br />Street, Park Drive, Towner Street, and a portion of Central Avenue, in Tract No. <br />2461, was ordered released and improvements accepted as completed. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Could, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 59-39 declaring '~eld right,of-way ' intersection" <br /> <br />on Myrtle Street at ~elton Street, as recommended by the Department of Public Works, <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />Stanley C. Gould, Jr., A. A. Hall, <br />J. Ogden Markel, Dele H. Heinly <br />None <br />Royal E. Hubbard <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 59-40 declaring 'Through'Street in the City <br />of Santa Ana" <br /> <br />installing a stop sign on Maple Street at Beverly Place, as recommended by the <br /> <br />Department of Public Works, was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen St-n]ey C. Gould, Jr., A. A. Hall, <br /> J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, that authorization <br /> Messrs. <br />be given Attorney Robert S. Barnes, of/_Kindel and Anderson, to proceed with the <br /> <br />appeal in the matter of McClurkin versus the City of Garden Grove, to have Judgment <br /> <br />entered in and proceed at once to appeal the case of Luna Eades and other parties, <br /> <br />Case No. 71219, versus the City of Garden Grove and to carry both matters forward <br /> <br />to conclusion at the agreed fee of $2750.00 for both matters, which said amount is <br /> <br />to include all court costs, including the printing of briefs; ~aid amount being <br /> <br />enlarged sufficiently to more than cover any court costs in these two matters. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Markel, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 59-41 expressing the desire of the City Council <br /> of the City of Santa Aha, California, for improved air facilities <br /> and connections with various Cities of the United States, and urging <br /> increased use of the Long Beach Municipal Airport" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayres, Councilmen <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />Stanley C. Hubbard <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Ordinance <br /> <br />entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance providing for the holding of a General Municipal Election <br />in the City of Santa Ana, California, on the 7th day of April, 1959, <br />for the election of City Officers of said City, giving notice of <br />said Election, designating the polling places, the hours during which <br />the polls shall be opened, the officers to be elected, and appointing <br />Election Officers to serve at said Election" <br /> <br />was intro(luced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br /> <br /> <br />
