Heinly <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor annOunCed this is the t~,~ and place for hearing protests or objections <br />against the assessment for improvement of Sixth Street and Hawley Streets, in <br />Assessment District No. 203 and asked the Clerk if she was in possession of the <br />affidavit of publication, affidavit of mailing and affidavit of posting. The Clerk <br />stated she had the affidavits, and on motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by <br />Hubbard and carried, the affidavits were received and filed. The Mayor asked the <br />Clerk if she had received any written protests or objections against the aseessment <br />or against the improvement as constructed or against the proceedings. The Clerk <br />said that no written protests had been received, Charles Wilcox, 2430 West Sixth <br />Street, protested as to the charge of the assessment as he had considerable less <br />frontage and less work done as compared to his neighbour whose assessment charge <br />was a lessor amount. The Director of Public Works explained that the spread is <br />based on the work act,,-lly done with the exception of the corner lot which is spread <br />on the basis of frontage plus 10~ of side property. On motion of Councilman Gould, <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the hearing was declared closed. It was moved by <br />Councilm~n Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, that the protest of Mr. Wilcox <br />be overruled and denied. The Council having ,,n~uimously waived the reading of the <br />Resolution, on motion of Councflmmu Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 59-~6 of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br /> confirming the assessment for the improvement of Sixth Street and <br /> Hawley Street" <br /> <br />was considered and pasaed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, St.~ley C. Could, Jr., <br /> A.A. Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by eleven property owners requesting that the alley <br />located between Logan and Lincoln Streets, facing Nashington Avenue, be terminated <br />as it is contributing to Juvenile delinquency. RichArd Salgado, 1015 Logan Street, <br />stated he has registered two complaints with the Police Department regarding the <br />conduct of users of the alley, and if the -11ey is closed, the property owners intend <br />to fence their properties. On motion of Counctl,~Gould, seconded by Hall and <br />carried, the petition was received and filed. On motion of Counc$1man Gould, <br />seconded by Hubbard and carried, the matter was referred to the Staff for report <br />and referral to the planning Commission, if necessary. <br /> <br />On motion of COunCilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Map of Tract No. <br /> <br />2762 filed by D. & L. Homes, Inc., for the dedication of Townley Street, Marty Lane, <br /> <br />River Lane, Sharon Road, McEvoy ~ne, Park Lane, Marcella Lane, Lorella Lane and a <br /> and bond in the sum of $84,000.00, <br />portion of Garden Grove Boulevar~z/was approved, license fee in the sum of $2850.00 <br /> <br />accepted and agreement covering improvements ordered signed. <br /> <br />The Council having ,,nanLmously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br />Counc~lm~u Markel, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 59-47 accepting deeds where the City is paying <br /> no cash consideration" <br /> <br />from Thomas M. and Ruth E. Flippen, Clement L. snd Selma A. McFarland, and Julia <br />Hinrichs Pretzer, conveying a 10-foot water line easement in an unnamed street in <br />Tentative Tract No. 2762, was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
