It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br />Hall and carried, that the M~ager be directed to write letters aceepting.the fire <br />equipment with thanks. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard~ seconded by Hall and carried, the Purchasing Agent <br />was authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of two tennis courts in <br />Memorial Park, Specification No. 6~1-12 and Drawing C-2659, and to sell by <br />negotiation scrap metal which has accumulated at the Corporation Yard, which has <br />an estfm~ted value of $250.00; bids to be opened May 4, 1959- <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the communication <br />from Reverend George J. Busdiecker, Pastor of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran <br />Church, reference proposed Ordinance regarding use of candles in religious <br />services was received, filed and the Clerk instructed to advise Reverend Busdiecker <br />there is no proposed Ordinance at the present time regarding the use of candles in <br />religious services. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by GOuld and carried, the written recom- <br />mendation of the ~anager dated March 10, 1959, for salary step increases ~or <br />fourteen employees, effective April l, 1~59, was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the plans and <br />specifications were approved and the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for <br />bids for the construction of the Police Facility Building; bids to be opened <br /> <br />May ~, 1959. <br /> <br />At the request of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br />Markel and carried, the following Budget transfers, for the fiscal year 1958-1959, <br /> <br />were approved: <br /> <br />From To Amount <br />51-5-~ lll~5 ~6 $ 2700.00 <br />51-5~6 11-552 hoo.oo <br />ll-OO0 51-32~ 8275.00 <br />(City Council Contingency Fund) <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by GOuld and carried, the request of <br /> <br />the Personnel Director was approved for authority to make the same adjustment with <br /> in the _sum of_$1~4.72,.. <br />respect to over-time payment to Harold nansen_~ due to ~ne fact that he was on <br /> <br />military leave when over-time payments were made to employees of the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilmen Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the communication <br />from the South Main Improvement Association submitting a Resolution regarding lack <br />of east-west through streets and to take such action as necessary to further the <br />procurement of the rights-of-way necessary for the extension of Edlnger Street <br />eastward to McClay Street, were received, filed and referred to the City Manager. <br /> <br /> <br />
