Busdiecker Merit salary increases Plans and Specifications Advertise for bids for Police Facility Building ¥ Budget transfers 1958-59 Over-time payment to Harold Hansen, Police Department~ Communication South Main Improvement Association ~ ~ ( On motion of c°Unci~ma~ Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, proper officials were authorized to execute agreement dated March 4, 1959, with the County of Orange for soil surveys and other tests to determine the proper pavement design on certain projects. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Mm~rkel and carried~ the application of Orange County Association for Mental Health, for permission to solicit funds on May 10th and llth, was referred to the Orange County Council of Community Agencies for recommendation and report. Communications were read from volunteer firemen of Santa Aha Gardens and volunteer firemen of Newhope donating to the Santa Ana Fire Departr~nt E. and J. resuscitators subject to certain conditions. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, that the M~ager be directed to write letters aceepting.the fire equipment with thanks. On motion of Councilman Hubbard~ seconded by Hall and carried, the Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of two tennis courts in Memorial Park, Specification No. 6~1-12 and Drawing C-2659, and to sell by negotiation scrap metal which has accumulated at the Corporation Yard, which has an estfm~ted value of $250.00; bids to be opened May 4, 1959- On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the communication from Reverend George J. Busdiecker, Pastor of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, reference proposed Ordinance regarding use of candles in religious services was received, filed and the Clerk instructed to advise Reverend Busdiecker there is no proposed Ordinance at the present time regarding the use of candles in religious services. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by GOuld and carried, the written recom- mendation of the ~anager dated March 10, 1959, for salary step increases ~or fourteen employees, effective April l, 1~59, was approved. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the plans and specifications were approved and the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of the Police Facility Building; bids to be opened May ~, 1959. At the request of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Budget transfers, for the fiscal year 1958-1959, were approved: From To Amount 51-5-~ lll~5 ~6 $ 2700.00 51-5~6 11-552 hoo.oo ll-OO0 51-32~ 8275.00 (City Council Contingency Fund) On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by GOuld and carried, the request of the Personnel Director was approved for authority to make the same adjustment with in the _sum of_$1~4.72,.. respect to over-time payment to Harold nansen_~ due to ~ne fact that he was on military leave when over-time payments were made to employees of the Police Department. On motion of Councilmen Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the communication from the South Main Improvement Association submitting a Resolution regarding lack of east-west through streets and to take such action as necessary to further the procurement of the rights-of-way necessary for the extension of Edlnger Street eastward to McClay Street, were received, filed and referred to the City Manager.
