5.1 <br /> <br />2. Will not support the employee's request. <br /> <br />If the Department Head does not support the employee's request for <br />a classification review, he or she will notify the employee of this <br />decision in writing and set forth the basis for the decision. <br /> <br />If the Department Head does not support the employee's request, but <br />agrees that some of the duties and/or responsibilities being performed <br />by the employee are those of a higher level City classification, he or <br />she can do the following: <br /> <br />Return the employee to performance of the duties and/or <br />responsibilities of their proper classification. <br /> <br />Eliminate the higher duties and/or responsibilities being <br />performed by the employee, for which the City has agreed are <br />those for which it will provide higher compensation. <br /> <br />Any employee request for classification review approved by the Department Head <br />will be forwarded to the Executive Director of Personnel Services. The Executive <br />Director of Personnel Services will confirm receipt of the request in writing to the <br />employee. Within sixty (60) days of receipt of the request, the Executive Director <br />of Personnel Services will notify the employee and Department Head of the decision <br />as to whether a study will be conducted. If the Executive Director of Personnel <br />Services determines that a study is appropriate, the Executive Director of Persormel <br />Services will so notify the employee and the Department Head in writing and will <br />provide the employee and Department Head with an approximate start date for the <br />study. <br /> <br />All determinations of the Department Head and the Executive Director of Personnel <br />Services are final. <br /> <br />D. All studies and study findings will require City Manager approval before proceeding. <br /> <br />All recommendations resulting from study findings require the approval of the City <br />Council and will be implemented in accordance with the City's Civil Service rules. <br /> <br />ARTICLE V <br /> <br />5.0 ASSIGNMENT & OTHER SPECIAL PAY ADDITIVES <br /> <br />Assignment Pay Differential. <br /> <br />Effective the first (1't) day of the second (2nd) payroll period following Council approval of <br />this Agreement, assignment pay differentials, as listed heroin and throughout the contract, <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br /> <br />
