Bid Acceptance-Two tennis <br />courts in Memorial Park <br /> <br />Tentative Map of <br />Tract No. 3387 <br />Villa Riviera Devel. <br /> <br />Tentative Map No. 3416 <br />Hodges Building Corp. <br /> <br />Tentative Map of <br />Tract No. 2868 <br />Donald K. Butts <br /> <br /> money to be contributed by the Cit~. The Mayor stated the matter would be <br /> <br /> contimed to May 18, 1959. <br /> . <br /> A tabulation of Oids was presented for the construction of two tennis courts <br /> <br /> at Memorial Park, Specification No. 691-12, as follows: <br /> <br /> Total <br /> Hardy & Harper -~0. OO <br /> Sully-miller ~o. $1,484.00 <br /> R. J. Noble Co. $1,050.00 <br /> <br /> On motion of Councd!mau Gould, seconded by Hubbarda~d carried, the bid of <br /> <br /> Hardy & Harper in the total amount of ~1290.00 was accepted, and all other bids <br /> rejected. <br /> <br /> ~ayor Heinly disqualified himself. ~ice-Mayor Hall assumed the chair. ~ommuni- <br /> cation was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval of Tentative <br /> Map of Tract i~o. 3387 filed by Villa Riviera Development Corporation creating <br /> 35 residential lots located approximately 830 feet south of Westminster a~enue <br /> and 1320 feet east of Newhope Street. Allan ~. McMahan, representing the <br /> subdivider, stated they Were agreea01e to the condibions with the exception of <br /> Condition No. 5 that Morningside Avenue be extended and stubbed at the east <br /> side of this tract so as to provide a reasonable means for the development of <br /> the adjacent property to the east. M~yor Heinly spoke on behalf of the suo- <br /> divider and stated if this condition is imposed, the subdivider is being forced <br /> to buy Oack from the owner m~e property and take one full lot from him; there <br /> is no definite assurance that this street will go through. It was moved by <br /> Councilman Hu~bard, seconded by Gould and carried that Tentative Tract Map. <br /> <br />No. 3387 be approved, subject to all of the conditions. <br /> <br />Mayor Heinly resumed the chair. <br />. <br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval of <br /> <br />Tentative Tract Map ~Io. 3416 filed by the Hodges Building Corporation creating <br /> <br />14 industrial lots located generally 1000 feet north of McFadden Street on the <br /> subject to conditions. <br />west side of ~AcCi~ Street/ ~on Birtcher, representing the Hodges Building <br /> <br />Corporation, stated they objected to Condition No. 2 reference to requirement <br />Of alleys in the rear of all lots used or intended to be used f~r business <br />purposes, unless adequate off-street parking areas and service loading and <br />unloading areas to serve such properties are secure~v reserved for such use. <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded Oy Gould and carried, Tentative <br /> <br />Tract Map. No. 3416 was approved, subjectto all of the c$nditions. <br />. <br />Communication was read from the Planning Con~nission recommending approval of <br /> <br />Tentative Map of Tract No. 2868 filed by Donald ~. Butts, creating 148 residential <br /> <br />lots located generally at the nc~theast corner of the intersection of Smeltzer <br /> s~.bject to conditions. <br />Avenue and Yerano Street/ Donald K. Butts stated he was agreeable to all <br /> <br />conditions except Condition No. 1 that the final tract map shall not be <br />approved until the City of Santa Ana ccmpleted negotiations with Garden Grove <br />Sanitary District for sewers. Mr. Butts stated he has no knowledge as to how <br />soo~ said negotiations will be completed, and he would like to develop and <br />file the map for one-fourth of the l~nd and start construction. On motion of <br />Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Tentative Map of Tract No. <br />2868 was approved, subject to the conditions with the excepbion of Condition <br />NO. 1. <br /> <br /> <br />
