<br />The Council having ,m-ntmously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councflm-~ Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 59-17B acceptfr~g deeds where the City is paying
<br /> no cash consideration, and authorizing execution of deeds grant-
<br /> lng easements to the Southern California Edison Company"
<br />
<br />from Arthur Herbert and Betty Ann Shipkey, and Gerald W. and Claire Shipkey for
<br />street easements along the westerly side of Edinger Street and the south side of
<br />$,] livan Street; from John R. Wilson for drainage easement agreeing to accept storm
<br />water x-moff f~ lands described therein, said lands being Tract No. 3416; and t~
<br />the Southern California Edison Company an easement for the maintenance of anchors,
<br />guywires and poles in a =m~l 1 p~rcel of land lying 42~' feet south of Santa Clara
<br />Avenue and 50 feet southwesterly of the Southern Pacific right-of-way, and to
<br />grant an eanememt for the maintenance amd construction of poles an~ other fixtures
<br />in a strip of land, the center line of which is appro~mately 267 feet north of the
<br />northwest corner of Sixth and Ross Streets, was considered and passed by the fol-
<br />
<br />lowing vote:

<br />from Allison Honer Company opposing ch~ing the names of important streets, par-
<br />ticularly Seventeenth Street, was received and filed.

<br />Joe Vidas, President, Seventeenth Street Improvement Association, presented
<br />co~..~unicatiuns from approximately twenty-t~o ~roperty owners, business people and
<br />residents, on Seventeenth Street, setting forth their reasonS for objecting to the
<br />contemplated mh-,~ging of Seventeenth Street to Westminster Boulevard, and on motion
<br />of Counc~lmau ~1t, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the ccmnnunications were
<br />received and filed. C~les Linger, 12144 Skyline Drive, owner of a business on
<br />Se~=nteenth Street, Donald Osen and Jess 0Jeda, 1720 East Seventeenth Street,
<br />G.W.Crawford, 1927 Heliotrope Drive, owner of two parne]s of property on Seventeenth
<br />Street, and John Sentesy, 1717 West Seventeenth Street, stated their individ, m~
<br />reasons for opposing the street nmae
