Chancy to construct a thr~e-bedroom <br />single family dwelling with carport, approximately 1284 square feet, on front part of <br />lot on property situated at 2127 South Orange Avenue, in R-1 District, subject to <br />conditions, <br /> <br /> Variance Application No. 1152 filed by John B. Chancy to construct a three bedroom <br />/ single family dwelling with carport, 1284 square feet, on front part of lot on <br /> property situated at 2129 South Orange Avenue, in R-1 District, subject to conditions, <br /> <br />Variance Application No. 1153 filed by Ray Erhardt to construct, maintain and display <br />one standard l2½foot by 46 foot illuminated outdoor advertising b~lletin, to be <br />erected over the roof of existing motel building "North Star Lodge" on property <br />situated at 2697 North Main Street, in R-1 District· subject to a condition, <br /> <br />Counc~lm~n Heinly disqualified himself on the following motion. Variance Application <br />No. 1159 filed by William H. Siemsen to construct a warehouse, waiving the 10 foot <br />rear yard requirement on property situated at 1100 East 17th Street, approximately <br />650 feet south of 17th Street, in C-2 District, <br /> <br /> Variance Application No. 1163 filed by Donald L. and Vivian Shaw to remove existing <br />residence and establish a parking lot to be used by the Ebell Society of the Santa <br />/Ama Valley, on property situated at 715 Mortimer Street, in R-3 District, subject to <br /> conditions, <br /> <br />Variance Application No. 1165 filed by J. P. Gonzales to build an additional single <br />family dwelling on property situated ~t ll041 16th Street, in R-1 District, subject <br />to conditions, and <br /> <br />Councilman Heinly disq,,al ified himself on the f~llowing motion. Variance Application <br />No. 1166 filed by the Tietz Corporation to construct a single family dwelling, <br />decreasing the rear yard frc~ the required 20 feet to 12 feet, waiving eight feet of <br />the rear yard requirements on property situated at the northeast corner of Smeltzer <br />Avenue and Verano Street, on Lot 64, Tract No. 3528, in R-1 District, subject to <br />conditions. <br /> <br />Conmunication was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval to erect <br /> <br />a triplex on the lot with five existing units, as shown on plot plan, on property <br /> <br />sitaated at 15112 Newhope Street, .in R-1 District, subject to conditions. <br /> <br />Mr. Clarence <br /> <br />Hall, representing the applicant, objected to the paving requirement. The Council <br /> <br />having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman <br /> <br />Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />'~esolution No. 59-216 granting Variance on Application No. <br />1161 without imposing all conditions" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Gould, Jr., Bob Brewer <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />Communication was read frc~ the Planning C~ission recormmending denial of Variance <br /> <br />Application No. 1154 filed by Harold K. and Jean R. Adams to construct a five unit <br /> <br />apartment on rear half of the lot, with one existing single family residence, on <br /> <br />property at 933 Cypress Avenue, in R-2 $istrict; ten parking spaces will be provided <br /> <br />on the property. Ma-. Mar~dith spoke in favor of the Variance and stated there are <br /> <br />apartments in the area and ample parking will be provided. Joe 0Jeda stated he is <br /> <br />of the opinion the applicant will remove the older house later.
