<br />This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 287, initiated by
<br />the Planning Commission, amending Sectional District Map 15-5-10, Exhibit B, to
<br />reclassify fr~ the R-1 to the C-1-PK Districts, property situated at the northeast
<br />corner of the intersection of Fairview Street and McFadden Avenue; size of property
<br />is approximately 650 feet by 1320 feet; no protests were received, and the hearing
<br />was closed. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the
<br />following Ordinance entitled:

<br />This being the date set for continued hearing c~ the annexation of property con-
<br />sisting of approximately 1131.166 acres, and is a certain portion of that area
<br />lying south of the Pacific Electric righ$-of-way, east of Main Street, west of
<br />Fairview Street, and nc~th of Baker Street; no protests were received and the
<br />hearing was closed. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried,
<br />the following Ordinance entitled~

<br />Communication was again read from the Planning Commission recommending denial of
<br />
<br />Variance Application No. 1180, filed by Arch T. Balcom, to erect one building having
<br />
<br /> ~ · ap~rt~gnt
<br />six one-cearoom/unmts; eight park~ ~alls to be provided; the old cottage type
<br />
<br />existing building to be removed or wrecked, on property situated at 701 S. Flower
<br />Street, in the R-2 District. Mr. Roy Felkner, 613 So. Garnsey Street, protested the
<br />erection of this apartment house, on this small lot, and made reference to the
<br />protest petition signed by eighteen persons and previously presented to the Planning
<br />C~mmission. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seceded by Brewer and carried, the
<br />recammendation of the Planning Commission was approved, and Variance Application
<br />
<br />No. 1180 denied.

<br />Communication was again read from the Planning Commission recommending approval of
<br />Variance Application No. 1181, filed by Helen M. Berrus, to remodel existing duplex
<br />to be used as income property, and construct an additional three-unit apartment,
<br />consisting of one three-bedroom, one two-bedroom and one one-bedroom unit on
<br />property situated north of 1919 S. Evergreen Street, and to include 1911 S. Ever-
<br />green Street, in R-1 District. Councilman Gould inquired abcmt the garages facing
<br />the street which are sometimes looked upon with scme question. The applicant stated
<br />she was informed that a Variance was not required where the garages are concerned,
<br />and there is no garage cn the property at the present time; also, would like a small
<br />studio apartment above the garage, a~l an area for a playground. The Council having
<br />unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Heinly,
<br />seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
