<br /> Communication was read fr~ the Planning Commission recmmending approval of ~ariance
<br /> Application No. 1164, filed by J. L. 8harar, to move
<br /> a single-family house onto a lot upon which already exists one single-family dwell-
<br />
<br /> ing, on property situated at 802 N~th Pacific Avenue (northwest corner of Eighth
<br /> Street and Pacific Avenue) in the R-1 District. Mr. Jo L. Sharar objected to the
<br /> dedication of a street easement for the fall width of the property a strip of land
<br /> 42.00 feet wide measured parallel to and northerly of the center line of Eighth
<br /> Street,the 15-foot rear-yard reduction, and the requirement of street improvem~uts
<br /> at this time, but agreed to the condition reference the driveway approach. The
<br /> Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br /> Councilman Heinly, seconded by Gould and Carried, the following Resolution entitled~
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 59-264 granting Variance on application
<br /> No. 1164 by modifying conditions"

<br /> On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Planning C~misston was approved, and Variance Applicatic~ No. 1183, filed
<br /> by S. & J. H. Carrillo, to erect a duplex on parts of property consisting of three
<br /> lots, on property situated at the northeast corner of Orange Avenue and Adams Street,
<br /> in R-1 District, was granted, subject to conditions.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Planning C~.m~ission was approved, and Variance Application No. 1185, filed
<br />
<br /> by T. J. and E. M. Bowman, to increase number of paying gaests from six to ten,
<br /> was granted
<br /> on property situated at 617 Orange Avenue, in R-1 District~ subject to conditions.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the recommendation
<br />
<br /> of the Planning Cmmaission was approved, and Variance Application No. 1186, filed
<br />
<br /> by C. Martinez, to waive requirement that two dwellings be attached in the R-2
<br /> District, en property situated at 945 West Chestnut Street, was granted, subject
<br /> to conditions.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Planning Commission was approved, and Variance Application No. 1187, filed
<br /> by S. & E. Meras, to decrease of one foot in required side yard, on property situa-
<br /> ted at 413 South Bristol Street, in R-2 District, was granted, subject to conditions.
<br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission reccmmending approval of Variance
<br /> Application No. 1189, filed by the Church of Religious Science, to construct an
<br /> addition to a nonconforming use, on property situated at 307 E. McFadden Street, in
<br /> R-1 District, subject to conditions. Rev. Craig Carter, 1417 W. 9th Street, protested
<br /> the replacement of 45 feet of sidewalk on Orange Avenue; that the addition of the
<br /> room in their own backyard is intended to take care of nursery children and will
<br /> not increase the capacity of the Church, ~r the present parking facilities. It was
<br /> moved by Councilman Gould and seconded by Heinly, that the Variance be granted,
<br /> subject to conditions. Councilman Heinly wit~irew his second. On motion of Council-
<br /> man Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Variance Application No. 1189 was granted
<br />
