<br />Communication was read from the Planning~ Cormnission recormnending approval of Var-
<br />iance Application No. 1193, filed by Ramon E. Hetzner· of an addition, already
<br />constructed, to his single-family dwelling, leaving only eleven feet of rear yard
<br />instead of the required twenty feet, on property situated at 2410 South Shelton
<br />Street in R-1 District. Clarence Hall, 12351 Westminster Avenue· on behalf o£ the
<br />applicant, requested approval of the rear yard requirement· stating that the build-/:
<br />Jug permit had not been applied for· but the building construction was completed
<br />with exception of the electrical work. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by
<br />Hein]j and carried, Variance Application No. 1193 was granted.

<br />iance Application No. 1194, filed by William E. and Grace W. Hernon, to erect a
<br />14-unit apartment building on property situated at 11921 Hazard Street in R-1 Dis-
<br />trict, subject to conditions and in accordance with plot plan. Joe P. King, lllgl
<br />Hazard Street, representin~ the applicant, agreed to all the conditions. It was
<br />moved by Councilman Hubbard that Variance Application No. 1194 be granted subject
<br />to co~itions. Motion lost. It was moved by CounciLman Bre.werand secc~dedby Heinly~
<br />that a Resolution be adopted granting the Variance, and the applicant install curb,
<br />gutter and paving, and excluding the installation of sidewalk and dedicatiou to

<br />representing the applicant, stated that the parking ratio of 3 to 1 imposed in the
<br />conditions of the Variance would take up a considerable portion of the property for
<br />parking~ and they now have 47 parking stalls for the proposed small secondary
